That was a mini-choke. Will it be enough for Amelie?

And people were saying Mauresmo was "over" her problems. She's come a long way, I think you'd have to give her that. if she somehow comes back in this match, I'd agree. Otherwise it's more of the same. The YEC final will seem like an aberration

Well, at least at Roland Garros she still has a long way to go.

Well, at least at Roland Garros she still has a long way to go. Yes, but people are running low on material to use against her now. Maybe this can be filed away with the other disappointments at RG, but she's a Slam champ and the World #1 (at least for a few more days). Not many saw that coming a few years back.

She deserves it of course and she didn't choke but there wasn't a single tight match that she had to close out in the entire second week. That'd be a better demonstration of having dealt with her demons.

I still maintain that some of the changes she has made to her overall playing style have been questionable.
The no.1 ... well. The AO title ... well.

Being number 1 doesn't mean much now... You can be number 1 without being dominant or great. As for winning a Slam, good for her, but it doesn't prove much given how she won it.

Let's see how Amelie does at Wimbledon. Then we'll know if it's strictly an RG phenomenon or not.

Well, nobody is saying she's dominant or great. But I am saying she's improved a lot and battled her nerves successfully enough to achieve some really lofty goals most people did not think was in store. Perhaps one day Roland Garros will fall her way too.

First German woman in GS QF since A. Huber at USO 2000, where she stupidly lost against Demented.

Let's see how Amelie does at Wimbledon. Then we'll know if it's strictly an RG phenomenon or not. Well, she's made the semis in her last three appearances. She's been on the cusp there and this year it seems she won't have to worry about Lindsay and Serena, her biggest nemeses.

She has a great game for grass, if her nerves & emotions will let her get past the first week after this collapse. They're showing her match now on NBC!

Well, she's been able to survive her past RG collapses and do well in England. And I think that Amelie is always looking ahead to Wimbledon. I think, before Australia this year, that she was believing that would be her best shot at a major.

Once I saw the highlights from the ED match, I figured Peer might actually give Martina a run, which I hadn't anticipated before. She seems like a pretty good little baseliner. Packs a bit of a punch. But she's gotta hold serve.
