We all need to collectively give bad karma to Ms. Penis Williams for the next 2 weeks.
We cannot allow what happened last year, to happen again. It was the most awful, despicable happening in tennis history. I threw things.
So, please, voice out your disgust at the thought of Penis possibly winning again.
Already, we have one thing working in our favor. A certain player thankfully bowed out of the tournament, before obviously blowing in another grand slam like she has every time for nearly 7 years now.

Will Mattek or Raymond do the job for us, or do we have to suffer through Myskina and Mauresmo chokes before Queen Masha or someone else prevents this atrocity from occuring?

She's not losing to Maria. probably. If I had to bet a thousand pounds on one player in the women's draw, it would be Venus.

Heh, all this hate makes me root for Venus all the more. Do it again, Venus! Win it a bunch more times!* *(unless you play JHH)

Penis can't win.
The tennis gods cannot allow it to happen again.
Everything bad that happens in women's tennis is because of one person: Lindsay Davenport. She's not here... so, something positive must happen. This will be the greatest Wimbledon ever.

Sigh. you know I was just talking to my mom(a lindsay fan) about last year's wimbledon. we both agreed that this had to be the absolute worst moment in at least the last five years in tennis... because Lindsay lost, Venus won, Lindsay choked, and then we all had to watch Venus jump up and down like a six year old at a birthday party

I never saw Venus jump up and down, I changed the channel immediately after the match point.

Ugh, I had to torture myself by sitting through the Wimbledon preview today...
Even Penis basically admits she didn't deserve to win last year, by saying she "wanted it more", and "had the most heart". She knows she was so lucky to win...
Well, whatever. Another year.

I've always liked and respected her as a human being and as a player and champion; I have no idea how to explain "why"; sorry.

Sadly, she's right though. At 6-5 in the second set, Lindsay had zero belief that she could win, and played one of the most passive service games ever. I really think the third set was worse though... 4-2 40-15, and dies. She gave away that service game, and again, had zero belief. Lindsay has nobody to blame but herself for that loss, just like most other major losses at that level.

Why not rename the thread? it is offensive to continually refer to Venus like that regardless of how much you 'hate' her.

I don't know how Venus will fare against any other player, but I do know there is NO way she is losing to Sharpova.

6-5 in the 2nd set was the worst. That was nothing but bunt the ball in, and pray Pee makes errors every point. Which is such an intelligent way to play with the speed and defensive skills that Lindsay possesses.
And, of course, afterwards Lindsay says how Penis was too good, blah blah... I hate Lindsay so much. Sorry, Andrew. I'll probably hate her even more as time passes.
Also, I should stress again that I do not hate Venus. It's her winning while obviously not putting much effort or preparation that causes me pain as a devoted tennis player and fan. If she loses in the first 5 rounds, then I'm fine and dandy with her. A bit angry since she's wasting her talent, but that's her choice, along with her fat sister's.

Thank you. And maybe you could put hate in quotation marks since I know you don't hate her

A bit angry since she's wasting her talent, but that's her choice, along with her fat sister's. Yes, the 6-5 game was horrible. But at 4-2 40-15 in the third, she had the match... She was serving very well again, Penis was making errors, and things were starting to go pretty quickly for her. It was just...bad. And it really didn't even stop there. Penis got her way out of countless 0-30 and 15-30 games right through the end of the match. I don't hate Lindsay. She's still my favorite player of all time. But her career is absolutely frustrating, and sadly, it's probably done now. And yes, it's upsetting that she's caused a ton of issues with the tour. She gave Maria and Venus Wimbledon, and by finishing the year #1 two years in a row with no majors, opened the tour up to even more criticism. And the worst part is that it shouldn't have been that way - both years, she should have gotten two slams. I don't know where it ended for her. She was having a fantastic end to the 2005 season, and the YEC was pretty much her's for the taking. But, she loses 7-6 7-6 to Pierce, in a match where she again had many chances, and it's over. I think that loss hurt way more than I or anybody else realized at the time.

I know this is a Hate Thread, but there seems to be no play, so I may as well post here. I was rooting for Mary and Maria last year when they played Venus, but I was genuinely happy for her when she won those matches. In particular, I loved her reaction after she defeated Mary. It was touching. And even after she won the final (a match in which I was rooting for her), I thought her victory reaction was endearing. It sure beats the dead-fish reaction Nastya had when she won RG in 2004. Anyhow, will be hoping Venus doesn't win this year, but her victory reactions last year were really sweet. Even the "I'm-a-little-princess" wave.
