I was wondering how Lisa dropped so far in the singles ranks, as even though her game has slipped, its still Top 50-ish, at worst.
She's showed why in the last 15 minutes.

She can't move. I don't think it's just a matter of tanking.

Raymond holds by coming to net nearly every point. Why didn't we do that serving for the match.

She can't move. I don't think it's just a matter of tanking. Watching her on the baseline is strange... Venus hit a slice BH only about a foot to Lisa's right, and she just stood there watching it, then made the move for it like two seconds too late.

Well, that's the beauty of grass. Useless players who are confortable on it can win a couple of matches. It's nothing new. Witness Tammy. Amen #2.

Raymond holds by coming to net nearly every point. Why didn't we do that serving for the match. Because she couldn't put a 1st serve in. As I understand, she was serving great up to that, and then just... Typical, I guess.

Well, I wonder if Andre has got a shot. Five sets for Nadal over Kendrick is not so inspiring. Maybe Luck Will Have It.
Venus, Elena and Daniela avoiding upsets all on the same day is nearly too much to take! God, that would have been a wonderful trifecta!

As I understand, she was serving great up to that, and then just... Typical, I guess. She was trying to find a way in on almost every point before that. First serve, she'd just do a S/V. Second serve, she'd try to find a shot to come in on ASAP. She dropped behind the baseline in that game and waited for errors, and it almost worked...

Oh well. Peng d. Peer. Good win. Why the HELL is Gimelstob in the 2nd round/not retired? What happened between Jank-King?

What happened between Jank-King? Jelena kept choking horribly but somehow managed to win 6-4 in the 3rd. Venus kills her 6-1 6-2.

Oh yay, Mopey later today on Center Court. Such fun.

just plain awful news for tennis fans. Lisa was so close yet once again she lost. I'd imagine Venus' brigade of horrible stupid racist fans are now going on about how great of a fighter she is Fearless Queeen veee.

Well, I wonder if Andre has got a shot. Five sets for Nadal over Kendrick is not so inspiring. Maybe Luck Will Have It. Is AACS getting any juice on his serve? If so I like his chances. If not, Rafa might break him like a cheap table, the kind wresters get thrown onto.

If not, Rafa might break him like a cheap table, the kind wresters get thrown onto. Maybe wrestling will pre-empt the tennis again! I'd rather see moonsaults than forehands anyway! To answer the question, Andre's serve kinda blows. I think the back injury contributes to that.

Oh, Amelie probably will be on Court 2, at best... since they stuck Maria out there today, and the racists put Pee on Court 1.

If not, Rafa might break him like a cheap table, the kind wresters get thrown onto. He had like 18 aces in the 1st round. His serve isn't bad. If Andre can keep up physically for a long 4 sets, I think he'll win. Rafa fights his heart out, but his game translates so poorly on grass. He has to entirely change his forehand to play with any effectiveness.

By the way, I was shocked to hear the commentators actually believing Lisa could close out that match. Poor Lisa, even she admits she "gags" in the big moments. It was so inevitable, but still so sad to watch.
