Martina. She isn't supposed to lose sets against the Sugiyamas of the world.

Martina is playing like complete shit. And I have to go out. Ugh.

Vee wins a match she's supposed to lose and Martina losing a match she's supposed to win easily. Typical.
I knew Ai would be trouble.

Hingis forehand sucks, but Ai played a very good first set.

Ai did play very well. Kudos to her. But, wtf is up with all the missed returns? This should've been 4-0.

Okay fuck I have to leave. Fuck Max and James for taking so long and making me miss this match. And fuck Martina for losing the first set and not finishing this already.
Hopp Tina!

Tim Ryan managed to say about 3 stupid things in a span of 5 minutes.
Frazier does not like grass. She did play well 2 years ago at Wimby, but other than that, her results are generally mediocre on both clay and grass.

Martina just didn't seem like she was all there today. She completely lacked concentration for large parts of this match. She actually won more points that Ai, and her stats are way better. Very, very odd match.

I feel bad for Ali and other devoted Hingie fans, though. But she'll be back. This was just an aberration. She was out of sorts today, maybe hormonal or some health thing.

Very, very odd match. Yeah, Martina definitely wasn't her usual "Chucky" self out there. And Ai was able to take advantage the way a lot of players would not have been.

Martina. Tough loss. Her forehand seemed off all day. And Ai is hard to beat when you're not playing great. Annoying... Martina beats her 9 out of 10 times, IMO. I liked her attire today, however.

Damn, the one danger match and she blew it. Oh well...she was due a weak loss. Everyone else lost today so no big deal. She'll rebound

She wasn't gonna beat Justine anyway, so it's not too bad.
Match was very fun to watch, though... a reminder of the days of yore, when women's tennis had strategy and more than 1 type of shot.

Ai played a good match today. I hope Martina realizes that, and that it was also just a bad day for her. And Martina was the better player in the match... more points won, more winners, same amout of UE's, more aces... just came down to not playing the biggest points well. Unlucky. I hope she moves on from this.

Her attire? You mean that slip she was wearing? I didn't think it suited her at all. Made her look pear-shaped!

I hope she moves on from this. I hope so, too. She's got to realize she'll have bad days even though she's loving her comeback overall. But Mr. Stepanek will cheer her up in no time, I think, and she'll be back to herself. But I wonder if she will reveal some illness, her period came, or some other reason that she seemed so flat today; so out of sorts.

Why are we watching a replay of Federer when Haas and Berdych are in the middle of an exciting match on Court 1?

Off days happen, sometimes for no reason at all. Could have just been one of those off days. And as we've seen before with Martina on grass, off days are never good. I'd really like her to play Stanford. She has a month now until San Diego, and the two are only a one hour flight apart. The Stanford field BLOWS, and she should make the final there easily if she avoids Kim's section. Would be a great place to win some matches.

Good idea. I hope she'll do that.
And you're right, it could have been just one of those Random Off Days with no explanation. Like those day you can only struggle through 3 pushups when usually you can do 15.

Julien . He looked really despirited and distracted and made too many UEs. Woohoo Na Li! And dammit, they switched my Tammy live feed to Vaidisova-Sprem.
