He's still playing juniors?

And is he related in any way to Jamie Murray (GBR)?

They are brothers.

He's playing RG juniors, and I believe he might try the step up soon after. I'm hoping he stays in the juniors at Wimby and I can maybe get him on the outside courts a couple of days.
Jamie Murray is his brother, he's played doubles with Andy a few times, they reached the Semi's of the US Open juniors last year, when Andy won the singles. I've only seen him play once and he looked a decent player, but not quite in the same class as Andy.

Cool. He's been working hard on the clay, he definitely has a shot in the juniors. I remember making a mention in one of the late-round threads in last year's USO forum about the emergence of a lot of British names in that draw. Though for a long time I had these Murray brothers mixed up with Jonny Marray :red: A good problem to have I guess

Murray has a chance to be the best Scottish player since Angus Podgorny, the Scotsman who defeated a 3-foot high blancmange in a memorable Wimbledon final, 0-6, 0-6, 0-5 (0-40), ret. (the blancmange was eaten on match point by Mr and Mrs Brainsample).

I always remember, at Wimbledon, the "patriotic" British crowd booing Miles when he had the nerve to go 2 sets up against Becker in 1999 when it was Becker's last match at Wimbledon. I hope when Andy wins Wimbledon he drapes a Scottish flag around his shoulders. Stuff the English

Well, if you ever get a chance, it's Episode Seven: "You're no fun any more". I had to look it up because I forgot how the match ended.

I wanted to see how much the domain name for andymurray.com would be so I emailed this place and they said it would be $12,000 what a bargain.

FYI, Murray was playing this week in the Dresden Challenger. After disposing qualifier German Puentes, 6:3, 6:3, he was swept out in the second round by Michael Lammer, 6:4 6:3.

I saw that, disappointing. I think he's saving himself for the RG Juniors It'll be interesting, if he does well whether he takes some WC for the grass court season, I'm sure he'd be offered them but considering its far from his best surface he might get embarrassed by a few guys.

Since he's not exactly lighting the clay circuit up, what does he have to lose? I expect he'll take wild cards every week...

Andy is the no.1 seed despite him being 7th in the world, interesting. Andy kicks off his campaign against Piero Luisi of Venezuela. Can't say I know much about him, he's 23rd in the junior rankings. Good luck Andy son.

(From the DT -- He's firing coaches like the big boys!)
Andrew Murray is here at the junior version of the French Open without a full-time coach after deciding that it would be in his best interests to part company with Pato Alvarez. The 18-year-old Scot, Britain's most promising teenager, said that he could no longer work with the Colombian because of a difference of opinion over the style of play he should be adopting.
Murray, the top seed for the boys' singles, said that he "had not been enjoying things on or off the court" with Alvarez at the Sanchez-Casal Academy in Barcelona. "Alvarez was trying to get me to play in a way I didn't like and it just wasn't working. He wanted me to be less aggressive and to play more like the Spanish players. That's not the way that I like to play. I like to play hard," Murray said.
He will work with Mark Petchey, the head of men's national training for the Lawn Tennis Association, during the grasscourt season in England, but has no plans to leave his semi-permanent training base in Spain. The teenager, who is managed by his mother Judy, said that he is looking for a new coach.
Murray was yesterday playing his first junior tennis since winning the boys' singles title at the US Open last year. He played a poor second set in his first round against Venezuelan Piero Luisi, but raised his level to win 6-4, 2-6, 6-3, celebrating by plucking the spare ball from his pocket and thrashing it out of the grounds and against the nearby apartment block.
