Rubens takes the pole position in Japan F1 while Kimi is at a very disappointing position of 8.

At least he's at P8, Michael is in P14, but we'll see how much this will "help" Kimi.

The pundits are saying it's going to help Kimi, but really -- Shumi only needs 1 point to win the drivers' race. Even if Kimi wins the race, if Shumi gets a points position, doesn't Shumi win?

Rubens Barricello won the Japan GP, so at least Kimi didn't lose to Shumi even if he did lose the drivers' championship. So I suppose there is some dignity that came out of this. Better luck next year, darling

Just wondering what will happen if Kimi has a better car and tires. His car is not fast enough and the tires can compete in rain.
Come on, Mercedes, build a better car next year and so as the tire company.

Lee the tyres of Michelin are good, but McLaren needs a more reliable car next season. I saw the race and he gave his all, but it wasn't enough. Becoming 2nd in the championships is a good achievement and I'm already looking forward to next season .

I know Michelin tires are good, I have them on all my cars but for the racing ones, they failed when it rain which costs Kimi's chance in US.

Bridgestone is way better in the rain, but if you look at the last GP season, how often did it rain? Unfortunately it rained at the wrong moments

Montoya at McLaren in 2005 Colombian Juan Pablo Montoya will race for McLaren in the 2005 Formula One season after completing his contract with rival team Williams, Team McLaren said on Monday. Montoya was a title contender this season, ending up third overall behind Ferrari's six times champion Michael Schumacher and McLaren's Kimi Raikkonen. "The opportunity to sign a talent like Juan Pablo was too good to miss and there is already a considerable amount of anticipation within our team about 2005," Ron Dennis, head of the Mercedes-powered outfit, said in a statement. Rumours swept Formula One before the end of the season that the Colombian, one of the sport's swashbuckling showmen, was set to join McLaren in place of Briton David Coulthard. However, McLaren did not say on Monday who would be driving alongside Montoya in its 2005 team. Dennis said McLaren wanted to win championships and believed the addition of Montoya, who has frequently threatened Schumacher on the track, would help them in that aim. "Juan Pablo has achieved a considerable amount of success in his career and we are certain that he will add to this with Team McLaren Mercedes," Dennis said. Finland's Mika Hakkinen was the last driver to win the drivers' world championship for McLaren car in 1999. "We are certainly looking forward to seeing what he can do in one of our cars and I believe that it's a prospect that can't fail to excite Formula One fans around the world," added Dennis. Montoya himself said he was thrilled to be joining the team. "The team is consistently a strong world championship contender and has a fantastic heritage. It's a great opportunity for me and I'm really looking forward to the first time I will be able to drive one of their cars. "To join them is an amazing challenge and experience which I plan to fully enjoy," he said. Reuters - 17/11/2003 -- www.eurosport.com/home/pages/V3/L0/S25/sport_Lng0_Spo25_Sto508656.shtmlNo mention of Kimi, but I can't imagine they'd dump him?

Finally www.eurosport.com/home/pages/V3/L0/S25/sport_Lng0_Spo25_Sto505542.shtmlNew McLaren ready to test McLaren's new Formula One car should make its testing debut before the end of this month, team partners Mercedes said on Saturday. "If everything goes according to plan, the new car should be driven for the first time in the November," Mercedes chief Juergen Hubbert told a Mercedes party in Stuttgart. McLaren hope the MP4-19, which has been developped from the MP4-18 car that failed to race last season, will help them challenge the supremacy of world champion Michael Schumacher's Ferrari team next season. McLaren's Kimi Raikkonen narrowly missed out on the title this year, finishing second, two points behind Schumacher. McLaren ended third in the constructors' standings behind Ferrari and second-placed Williams. "Overall it was a successful year," said Mercedes motorsport boss Norbert Haug. "If we keep improving, we will soon be where we want to be. We are not afraid of anyone, and that goes for Ferrari and Williams." Raikkonen also looked to 2004, saying: "It was a good season, even if it's obviously better when you're at the very top. I can't promise I will be champion next year but that certainly will be my goal." Reuters - 07/11/03

Montoya at McLaren in 2005 No mention of Kimi, but I can't imagine they'd dump him? No, they're not going to dump Kimi, they're not that stupid. Actually, Kimi and Mclarens signed a long term contract. This news simply means that from 2005, David Coulthard will not be a racing driver for Mclarens any more. Maybe he will go to another team. But still, I'm so about Montoya at Mclarens! Montoya is always selfish, crude and arrogant! Always sqeezing his team mate!

The general buzz that I've been hearing is that Coultard will retire. He's getting pretty old, no? Heh, I'm not quite sure what to think of it. I guess it helps to have a newbie's ignorant perspective on these things It seems NOBODY is happy about this merger. I guess I can just hope that when Kimi and JPM become teammates they won't be fighting for the track so much as trying to keep the Shumis down. I really hope Kimi has a good season next year. I think McLaren shoud stick with their young, key driver. They've had such success with Finns over the years

Kimi's there to stay, that's for sure I was surprised cause I expected him to stay with Williams since they're a good team too. I'm sure he'll get some media training and won't have the big mouth he has now. McLaren won't allow it! Testing will start next season I think and it means the winter F1 program will start It's a weekly show we used to get with the latest news and the launches of the new cars

Kimi is engaged The caption is in Chinese and loosely translated as Kimi and his fiancee attending the FIA (Federation International Automobile) gala awards ceremony in Monte Carlo, Friday Dec. 12, 2003. The caption mentions his fiancee's name but it's bascially not possible to guess what exactly the name is. edit: her name is Verlobten Jenni.
