at Becks for bragging about how smart he was to take a yellow card, only to realise it wasn't so smart to open his mouth about it.

He should have kept it to himself but he needs to talk about something else to get his private life out of the news again with another alleged affair. It only makes him sound more stupid by claiming it was some kind of brilliant idea.

Beckham is a blond bimbo. A male one. He's good with his right foot though.
So is there any truth in the rumours that Owen is heading back to Liverpool?

If he does, then it wont be until next August. I dont think it'll happen, but I didnt think he'd leave in the first place Maybe if by then he still is on the bench and he has lost his England place he might consider it. We have first refusal on him, although I did hear that that was just a rumour too so I dont know what to believe anymore!

Speaking of football I read yesterday Henning Berg is going to release a book, and it focuses on the great incident between Riise and Carew when they had their training fight in Drammen, before the qualifying match.
I will find the text message that Carew allegedly sent to Berg, it was funny in a sad way.

England won 4-0 today Whats with Poland winning 8-0?? Diouf scored twice for Senegal which should hopefully bump up his price. Czech 4-3 Finland seemed like a good game, wish that had been on on TV

He'll sit out his contract and go for free.

Heh... Eriksson stands by his manBy Matt Dickinson, Chief Football Correspondent www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,27-1546859,00.html IT IS not really Sven-Göran Eriksson’s style, but the England head coach should have sought out David Beckham after yesterday’s media conference. “I’ve just given you yet another ringing endorsement,” the Swede could have told his captain. “Now what are you going to do for me?” Hopefully, the captain would have replied that, against Azerbaijan tonight, he would seek to repay that loyalty with a more tactically disciplined performance than the one he gave against Northern Ireland on Saturday. He did not have a stinker, but, in contrast to Joe Cole’s good work on the left, he appeared to have decided that it was dull on the right wing. Eriksson said yesterday that he felt “embarrassed” having to defend Beckham once again; embarrassed, presumably, for the player’s critics rather than the man himself. Coach and captain are locked in an embrace that binds them together until the final kick at the 2006 World Cup finals in Germany. Eriksson as good as declared yesterday that anyone calling for Beckham to be dropped, or so much as criticising him for indifferent form, would be wasting their breath over the next 15 months. “I feel embarrassed to talk about it, to talk whether he should be in the team, in the squad, captain,” Eriksson said. “He’s in the squad, in the team and is captain. I think he will still be at the World Cup. I hope so.” If ever the Swede was going to withdraw Beckham for any reason other than injury, he would surely have done so in the European Championship quarter-final against Portugal last summer when the captain was gasping long before Paul Scholes or Steven Gerrard, who were replaced. Eriksson has gone so far along the road in his support for Beckham that there appears to be no turning back before the summer of 2006. Fortunately for Beckham and his head coach, Shaun Wright-Phillips and Kieron Dyer have yet to make unarguable cases for inclusion and, like any player, the captain would expect 79 caps of experience to be taken into consideration. Nor is the Real Madrid man the only player of his age to experience fluctuations in form and energy levels. Similar lulls have been seen in the past 12 months from such highly regarded performers as Scholes and Ryan Giggs. England’s one-point advantage over Poland at the top of group six and the mediocrity of the opposition means that the relationship between Eriksson and Beckham is unlikely to be put under strain before the World Cup finals, but the midfield player owes his head coach a good performance tonight after more public backing. “I think the expectations on Beckham are extremely high,” the Swede said. “If you look at some games, he took the whole team on his shoulders. You can’t expect that every time, but for him not to be in the team and the squad is a long way to go.” Dealing with expectations was yesterday’s theme in the England camp. Eriksson’s team plays at a sold-out St James’ Park, Newcastle, knowing that anything less than a repeat of Saturday’s 4-0 victory will be regarded as a step backwards — particularly in the light of Azerbaijan’s 8-0 defeat away to Poland at the weekend. Rather than inflating rampant expectations, the Swede was happy to risk being branded a killjoy. “To talk about how many goals you are going to score has always been regarded as bad luck in Italy and Portugal,” he said. “In one way, I will be happy with 1-0. “I know that we are superfavourites, but I will tell the players to go out and give a performance like they did on Saturday. You can’t tell them to score five or eight. Football is not like that. It was an unreal game [the 8-0] on Saturday. I don’t think Azerbaijan are that bad or Poland that good.” Still, England could not be in better shape to deliver a heavy beating. Eriksson said that confidence is so high that the players wished that the World Cup was coming around this summer and, with everyone apart from Sol Campbell fit, it is a shame that England do not have the chance to test their form against stronger opposition. “In England, I have never seen a team more confident,” Eriksson said. “A lot of players are having good results for their clubs and they are more mature. They come in calm, knowing what to do. They like to be together. They weren’t nervous at all at half-time against Northern Ireland [when it was 0-0].” Eriksson said that it was his aim to keep improving the team’s technical quality and their ability to retain possession. Whether Beckham is at the forefront of that development or is borne along by Rooney, Frank Lampard and Gerrard, the captain will be staying in the team.

Sounds like a tough match They could barely beat the team that was thrashed by Poland?! England beat stubborn Azerbaijan 2-0Wed Mar 30, 2005 9:35 PM GMT NEWCASTLE, England, March 30 (Reuters) - England beat a stubborn Azerbaijan side 2-0 at St James' Park on Wednesday to remain in command of their World Cup qualifying group. Second-half goals by midfielders Steven Gerrard and David Beckham earned Sven-Goran Eriksson's side three points against a much-improved Azerbaijan, who were thrashed 8-0 in Poland on Saturday. Gerrard crashed a bouncing shot in off the underside of the crossbar after 51 minutes and captain Beckham swept home the second after springing the offside trap 11 minutes later. England also hit the post three times. The result means the Group Six leaders have 16 points from six games, one more than second-placed Poland who beat Northern Ireland 1-0 in Warsaw on Wednesday. Azerbaijan stay bottom on two points.

Sweden beat Malta 6-0 at home. Next up "friendly" vs. Norway. I wonder why so many of Sweden's first choice players have pulled out of that match? Probably want to keep their legs unbroken.
