I know I know, they don't quite look alike, and their styles can't be more contrasting. I don't know why but when I saw Nalby, Boris came to mind . I think it's bcos they both have blondish body hair and very fair skin I really don't know why I got that impression. Oh, and they both done very well at their very first ever Wimbledon, maybe ?

I taped Nalby and Spadea's match from last thurs and didn't get to watch it until tonite. I'm glad that I watched before taped over it, cos when they talked about good shots, they showed Ferrero/Younes match with JC fallen on his stomach and hit the shot, got back up and hit a bh winner, nice shot ;D. They also mentioned that JC caused quite a stir in Montreal, so is there any reason why they didn't put him on Ctr Court? All good though cos if he was in CC, Becca wouldn't have gone to see it and we wouldn't know the details of the match. I see that Cincy does the same thing, he's not getting any Centre Court attention, which is probably a good thing cos Hackie will be able to get close to take some great shots, I suppose.

Ferrero played his first match on center court, so it's not as if he didn't play there at all. As for him causing a "stir"... he certainly wasn't the crowd favourite against Younes!

Well, the commentators said he caused a stir and frankly, I wasn't so sure. Just bcos I still don't think ppl in N. A. knows him. And bcos of that non-stop mentioning of that Aussie SF match, I'm sure Younes is way more known than Ferrero. But hey, I'll take whatever the commentators said .

Actually I've found in my time at the Toronto and Montreal tournaments (including the last one) that Younes is not particularly known by many tennis fans. The fact of the Younes-Ferrero match was that there is a large Moroccan community in Montreal, since Morocco itself is a French-speaking country. The ppl sitting around me at the match were actually insisting to me that he made a big splash in the Wimbledon finals.

She refused to believe me that his amazing 5 set match happened in Australia, and NOT Wimbledon. She was okay aside from that It's totally understandable why they would confuse Younes with Nalbandian though... they are both... um...

Have you guys ever heard of the guy who follows the ATP tour around the world and goes to all the tournaments carrying flags, loudly rooting for the players? Werthiem made mention of him once. Well his name is Louis... or something like that. He sat right infront of my at Sjeng's match. Sjengs gf told us that he has about 15 players that he *really* supports. Sjeng is one, Rainer is another - he was there on a pass from Schuettler, actually! But he cheers for all the players when they are doing well... everytime that Zab broke Sjeng he would stand up with an Argentina flag covering himself and SCREAM "Viva Argentina!" lol... it was wild. He also would run back and forth from one side of the court to the other on the changeovers, so that he was always on Sjeng's side. He was shouting him encouragement the whole time like they were brothers Sjeng's gf was supportive but quiet... not one to draw attention to herself, as far as I could tell. One of the times when Louis did his "Viva Argentina!" bit he turns around and chucks the flag down (hitting my feet, lol), crosses his arms, frowns and goes "much to my chagrin!" lol... what a moment I just about died that somebody used the word "chagrin" That pretty much wraps up Day two.... we say part of Max and Massu, but the pony tail was upsetting me so we had to leave OH MY GOD!! FLAG MAN WAS IN CINCY, TOO!! Wow, that's so wild. He definitely had a players' guest pass but he managed to piss off Lars Graff at a doubles match so we were wondering who the hell would give him a pass? LMAO, wow, my notes are going to be such a great compliment to yours, Becca

Thanks for the report Becca It was fun to read and I'm glad you had a good time. I hardly saw any tennis this summer so these reports make up for it.

My friend and I wandered over to court 7, and none other than THE PattyMac was practicing with.... some guy. I have no idea why he was there... I just couldnt' think. It was such a wildly orgasmic moment, that all I could do was stare. I was being graced with a God like presence and was going to soak this moment up for as long as I could (okay, in truth I took two picture and then ran over to court 1 for Ancic-Nal...details, details!) Was he shirtless? ;D Sounds like you had a blast!

Fortunately THE PattyMac was shirt-covered. Although I am sure if he was shirtless, he's be a hairy wonder. It's a good thing he left the shirt on or I'd have missed Ancic-Nalbandian!
