LMAO! What a motley crew. And I thought Idol finalists couldn't get any worse than the American version... The current finalists from the Canadian Idol show sing the Canadian National Anthem during the opening ceremony for the new stadium during the Tennis Masters Canada on July 26, 2004 at the Rexall Center in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Today was the best day of tennis in my entire life. It was so good, that I can't even find the words to express myself.
The end.

Woot woot. Does this mean you'll get in for free tomorrow? She should get in for free and or have the money refunded, but there should be some play today though.

Sure hope I'm not jinxing the day here but I see the light, er, that's blue, among the grey clouds. ;D Yesterday's decision not to head out turned out ok. My Tues tic can be exchanged for the evening session tonight. Glad to hear there are some stands at court 1 now. I'm a shorty, and need them to see anything on the outer courts. I'm sure there are more improvements to come!!! Like a scoreboard on Centre Court but they did catch on and start to put the match score up on the video screens Mon pm. Looking forward to a great day of tennis, Sandy

Yes, there are some good matches today and I think the gang will be busy today.
I know I would be at the Gaudio/Reid match not for the quality, though Henman/Zabaleta could be interesting. Gonzo/Schuettler and Coria/Horna only to cheer for Luis, though he won't beat him.

He had another, shorter brown haired guy with him. From afar, I thought it was Robredo, and that was why I went over there in the first place. I wonder who that was?

Woot woot. Does this mean you'll get in for free tomorrow? Well... it would have, but Rogifan bought our tickets ahead of time because she had a discount. So... I already have one. But I''ll get a ticket for tomorroqw night with it. You don't really need a night ticket ot stick around, though. Today looks better, but not much better. It's going to rain again

Lucky you for staying home The stands on court 1 are there just in time for David! Woohoo! Hopefully they keep improving the place. Maybe by 2005 I'll be totally satisfied Welcome, by the way

I'm going to catch the start of Rainer-Gonzo, and I'd like to see some of Henman-Zab, but I dunno if I'll fit it in. David plays the same time as Hewitt-Nadal, so I'll have to decide how I'm going ot work that. I'll catch the lasth alf of Reid-Gaudio, so that I can have good seats for David. Now that Gaudio has had a day to rest, I'm not so sure about Todd upsetting him anymore Coria I've seen three times already, so I can get by without if I must.

So many mayches at the same time that I want to see. sigh. That's always the way, they even manage to do that at Slams as well. I have had that experience numerous times at RG and AO. Gonzo, when he is playing well is quite fun to watch and it's the only thing I like about Mrs.Guga is that she is a Gonzo fan. You might be lucky that some matches might go quicker than others and then you can do a bit of moving around. The rain delay has helped someone then hasn't it? Of course you need good seats and I imagine there are a few people who are expecting that pics will be taken. Hopefully they will get all the matches completed.

There was some younger guy beside me watching GOnzo practice yesterday morning.. he must have been about 14. He was SO excited that he had seen Gaudio, and was going on about how nice he thought he was, and blah blah blah. You'd have been proud Either than that, nobody is tlaking about him much. He hasn't been around, though. I imagine that he got here Monday, so that would be why. I'm going to take off for tennis in a few minutes If it rains, I'll be back

I do'nt stay at one match for the entire time anyways. I rarely get in a full match without leaving at some point. There is just so much that I want to see! I likely won't even stay at David's match the whole time

I don't imagine he will get mobbed by the masses, so that's a good thing. It was the same with Costa as well after he won the French, and yes I am a Costa fan.

I'm still at home waiting for some news of when the play will start... as long as I'm there in time for Rogi's 2nd set... then Marat, Carlos, Gaston!!, David, Rafa, who else?? They better play today or there will be hell to pay... I now have fullblown laryngitis, Chloe! and my sis ain't here w me... her lovely vacation day yesterday was a washout, poor thing. George, I can't shout for Gaston... but I did spy him in the lounge... also Rafa, Carlos, David playing pool and Rogi playing amazing ping-pong!! Then Rafa at ping-pong having fun fun fun! I'll leave around 11ish to arrive around noon I guess... so sick of this USO weather. Why do I have to be sick NOW??? Chloe, I'm up in BRONZE btw, just above you! I may see you at some of the above matches. IF I can, I'll try to catch Fernando. We'll see... you can catch me in the tent eating overpriced crap or at the computers!! Rogi, make it quick, pls -- he definitely looked rusty last night... pls serve better and cut down the UEs... ;D

I've been watching the coverage on and off. Moya-Verdasco looks pretty good, I'd probably be there. I like that sort of bleacher open seating. ESPN spied Ferrero and Patricia somewhere on Centre Court, during the Safin-Kiefer match. I think he was in the luxury boxes, or at the very top of the stadium. They were laughing, so I'm guessing he's okay BTW, is it really called the Danie Nestor Grandstand Court?

Yes, Hackie it's called the Danny Nestor court.
I am looking forward to the reports and I can't say that I am surprised that Gaudio lost, and all these people that expect him to be winning all the time, don't have much of a clue.
The Gonzo match was enjoyable, but I noticed a very cold handshake between the two.

Imagine my complete SHOCK when they showed a bit of the Potato-Nadal match after the Duck's win tonight (talk about disappointing, Benneteau needs to keep himself worked up for the duration of more than 3/4 set). Nadal is certainly fearless, but he need not run around his backhand so much. I want to know what happened to Daveeeeeeed at the end of his match. Hopefully one of our roving reporters was there for the uninspiring ending.

For sure, I mean the TMS events are pretty well covered here in Australia. It looks like I will have to cheer for Gonzo or Fed now.
Good for you Hackie, that they actually showed some tennis that wasn't just Roddick.

Yeah, they've shown the usual assortment of players (read: A-hole, Fed, and Duck, who they can't praise enough. PMac even showed one of the "Mrs. Roddick" shirts they are selling on the grounds and threatened to put it on and show off his muscles ). That's why I always want Duckie to lose, so I can see players I want to see

Due to a paper that is due Friday... a camera that has to be returned Thursday... and a few other things that I forgot... I was on the first bus out of there after Coria retired. Uh, did anybody else notice that everybody I like lost today? Yeah, that was special. That didn't help!
I'll write reports tomorrow. I'm exhausted.

Wednesday I started the day off wandering off seeing who was on the practice courts. First I came across Hrbaty and Beck preparing for their 11am matches over on court three. I wathced for a little bit. They were both chatty and seemed to be joking around, since they were chuckling quite a bit. Beck looks like somebody, but I can't place it Then i wandered over to the main practice courts. I saw Lopez warming up. Somebody came out behind him and was getting his stuff out. I could only see him from behind at this point, and i was SURE I'd found Nadal. Uh, then he turned around, and Verdasco appeared. Oops. Those two are a riot... Verdasco, and Lopez, that is. Anyways, so I wandered over court two after this to see what 5 people were over there to watch. I see Moya and think "where Moya is, Nadal can't be far behind"... uh, then I looked three feet to my right, and there he is across court from us. So I watched those two practice for half an hour. At 11, I went over to the grandstand so that I could watch Rainer-Gonzo. I watched the first set, and then left, thinking that Rainer was going to close it out. He was playing his usual solid tennis, and Gonzo was being a bonehead. *more to come*
