Well I have to make use of my 6 years of Latin in school sometimes.

Who is Dudi Sela? And why is he smoking Srichaphan? Dudi is like 4'9 or something. Good for him! I saw him lose in qualies to Murray at the USO a couple years ago. He looked pretty down about that, obviously, but got hoarded by fans and posed for photos anyways. Okay, it's more like he was hoarded by the ten fans that didn't care about Andy, but still. He's a midget? Wow! Midget champ! Ljubicic is one game from his exit against Fish.

Oh, and in case you hadn't noticed fatty, Paradorn occasionally blows. And by occasionally, I mean most of the time. Yeah, I had perceived that, I suppose. Iroda is getting clocked by Monique Adamczak. 6-1!

Match of the day coming up.
I'm predicting a repeat of Li vs. S. Williams last year, although a retirement is not totally out of question.

Mara commits several unforced errors in a row to hand Serena the first break of the match!

While I'm not in the mood to start yet another seeding discussion, the fact that Santangelo was seeded at this tournament is a big fat joke. A seed should not get helplessly slaughtered like that by a rusty ex-no.1.

While I'm not in the mood to start yet another seeding discussion, the fact that Santangelo was seeded at this tournament is a big fat joke. A seed should not get helplessly slaughtered like that by a rusty ex-no.1. Anyway, that was quite a thrashing. 2 and 1. Ljubicic is gone, 4-6 7-6 6-4 6-4 to Mardy Fish. *Another* Slam underperformance from him. Johansson prevailed over somebody I have never heard of in five sets. COME ON THOMAS, MAKE IT TWO. Seriously, that he's a Slam champ is pretty weird. Bjorkman d. Patience by the bizarre scoreline of 5-7 4-6 6-0 6-1 6-2. Some sort of injury?

And don't forget Kremer def. Krajicek 64 63. Good old Anne! She and Wayne A. should get together to talk over OLD times.

Wow, so Bjorkman won a 5-setter, too? This is the year for the grizzled veterans. (To win one round )
Safin's still out there, then?

Safin outlasted Becker 5-7 7-6 (7-2) 3-6 6-3 6-4
(whew!)
"I can't say it was a really beautiful match - it was a lot of fighting," Safin said.
"It's difficult to play after you've been injured for a long time.
"Hopefully this match will give me the confidence to keep on going."

Ivan blows. Is there any reasonable explanation for why he's so horrible in slams.
I'm glad I didn't stay up to watch the night matches.

The matches yesterday were poor. Ljubicic was dire. "Ree" vs Santangelo was a horror show - the crowd was petrified.
And so many blowouts, bagels and breadsticks on the men's side (and only 3 seeds knocked out). There were several blowouts on the early rounds of the ATP warmups as well, so I'm beginning to think that men's tennis is losing depth.

Let's blame it on the round robin format.

Let's blame it on the round robin format. People on MTF are blaming it on "injuries".

"Ree" vs Santangelo was a horror show - the crowd was petrified. Do tell more about it, I didn't watch it. Is Ree going to win the AO? In her dreams. Santangelo played awful from beginning to end. We all know she can't move, but she was missing one easy shot after another. "Ree" began awfully as well, but eventually got her serve going (even though her second serve was piss poor) and that gave her the edge on the first set. On the second set, "Ree" was marginally better. Got lucky with some last ditch defensive shots, hit a few good ROS and several BHs into the corner that Santangelo had trouble getting to. But whenever Santangelo managed to dictate play and open a few angles, there was nothing "Ree" could do (except pray for Mara to miss, which she did more often than not). And "Ree"'s groundstrokes, with a few exceptions, were loopy and lacked depth. Had she played against say Jankovic, we would be laughing at a double bagel.

It should be the Rochi, IMO. You may be right, but I got it from Hurley who uses ii. I think. Ugh. Never. octopus : octopi :: Rochus : Rochi Of course this is silly so really it's neither. But I take my silliness very seriously!
