With this win today, Rogi moves to #2 in CR...so Yay!  Rafa is becoming scary! watch out Rogi, Guga, Juanqui, etc...will he beat Gaudio? Go Nalby! lol but only for this one match...Rainer doesnt need any more pts! C'mon Rogi! At least he knows how to handle a big serve... |

good morning everybody  interview time again!! Q: The next match is again that late. Is that bothering you? A: No, I'm even glad, that I play late. Not really becouse of the cold temperature, but I might have the possibility to go to the city or do something else. Today the whole day was kind of wasted becouse of the wait. But we played cards and watched interresting matches. Tomorrow I know there's nothing till 7.30 PM. I'm going to play no matter what as it's on Centre Court, that's good to know too. So I'll have something from the day. Q: Did you change the weight at these conditions? A: The weight of the racquet a little. Before everything was a little lighter, now a bit heavier, couse I've been playing more from the groundline. But Frank's taking care of that and I do trust him blind. It's working perfect in Davis Cup as well. Q: How many gramms is the difference? A: That you have to ask him (Frank), as I don't know. Q: Today on the Centre Court the ball wasn't bouncing left and right. A: Today you've seen matches with ppl who are very quick on their feet, not only Clement and Hewitt, but also Schüttler and Burgsmüller. They want long rallies. That makes it look slower immediately. The balls are bouncing a bit funny everywhere becouse of the cool weather here. Q: But you wouldn't go on court spontanous at these temperatures at 8 PM? A: That's for sure, that I would prefere it to be weather like in Rome. Mainly with the dropshots one's a bit scared. When there are no long rallies during the matches, there's a chance to get a strain. There one has to keep warm. Q: That was like the game against Arazi in Paris where it even rained. A: It was even more extreme in Paris. There it was in fact also raining. Then the balls really get bigger and heavier. But it was also very slow tonight becouse of the cold. Q: Do you have it as well, that after a win, the tierdness one should actually feel, you don't really feel it? A: Yes, I'm surprised how much better I'm feeling than on sunday. Then on sunday I was very tired. The day off did me some good. The match yesterday and also today was light for the body. I'm very glad about this. I sleep well and long and that's for sure important to relax. Last week it was also very hot, here its cooler and one doesn't feel the tiredness as much. It's possible that i'll get a little tired with a 3 setter but normaly 3 set shouldn't be a problem. Well as long as it's not a Hewitt-Clement sort of thing that would be kind of long (laughs). Good luck tonight agaisnt Scud as you said in the interview watch out for his serve!! To bad you're playing so late so no chance to either see you on TV or follow the live scores (And the recap on NDR is just bla bla with Boris - not even a full cover of all the results....) |
