Good for Chakvetadze. She could be the best ranked Russian soon. Who would have thought? Dushevina and Kirilenko and even Kleybanova were supposed to be better than her.

Wednesday will be fun. Roger is so going to annihilate Andrew again.
How Roger won that match in 2 hours, with Lopez playing out of his mind for as long as he did... just special stuff, guys. Enjoy it.

As I watched the night match, I started out thinking.. "i want to have sex with Anna Chakvetadze." then later on I thought "I want to marry Anna Chakvetadze," but when she won and I heard her voice, I thought "hmmmmmmmm."

Thank God. The Blake ranking fall will continue, and hopefully by this time next year he'll be back out of the Top 20, where he belongs, and the "J-Block" will never be heard from again! Does he truly belong outside of the top 20, though? I mean, aside from the hatred that J-Block invokes. Yes. Yes. Oh god, yes. He was only ever going to be one of those journeymen who made a run to the top 5/top 10 for a year or two before dropping again. There have been so many like him...Lapentti and Novak and Ljubicic and Rusedski, and even Bjorkman fits into this category. Talented enough to stay there for a while, but never ever an elite player (by which I mean "has any sort of chance whatsoever to win a Slam") (and Blake would have no chance to win a Slam even if he broke both Roger and Rafa's legs). He's given vastly more attention than any of those guyes ever got though, and for someone who's never made a Slam SF the sobriquet "champion" is applied to him perhaps a little too much. I mean, we hyped up Rusedski in this country, but not to the extent of calling him an elite player!

To be fair, Blake is very rarely mentioned as a serious threat to win a slam. Even by the US media.
As for his popularity, c'mon... James' entire life makes for a damn good story. He's cute. He's black. He's USian. He's a flashy shotmaker with a very inconsistent game.
If Blake did ever win a slam, his hype would go completely through the roof.

How Roger won that match in 2 hours, with Lopez playing out of his mind for as long as he did... just special stuff, guys. Enjoy it. Quite. What was Lopez' 1st serve % on that first set, 90%? And all of them right on the lines.

BTW I like Blake. He's very fun to watch, something of an ATP equivalent of a WTA brainless ballbasher, except he's lightning fast.

Why do you talk like this? As if the rest of us don't know that the tournament she's playing is the 2007 US Open. Or that she withdrew halfway through the New Haven final. Why do you talk like a most-stilted press release? Maybe it comes from my efficient journalistic and broadcasting background. By the way some people might not know that Szavay had back problems in New Haven. "Efficient" lol, please. What DOES that background comprise, anyway? And whoever those people are, they don't populate this board.
