The few points ES showed of Jankovic vs NZ were disheartening. Jankovic's shots have nothing on them, nothing; FH rarely cleared the service line, even the BH was harmless. It seems Jankovic is injured. Something in her right hand. I don't think she'd win this anyway, but sometimes I feel she's as unlucky as Giovanni Drogo.

Radwanska v Cornet is the real popcorn match of the next round, I think. I've no idea at all who'll win.

It seems Jankovic is injured. Something in her right hand. Yes, it's the wrist. It started acting up in the second set, and it did look worrying. Jelena is lucky to have finished the match in straight sets. I'm liking Cibulkova's chances tomorrow.

I can see how the Chak Attack can be super-annoying, and the USO semi-final was a disgrace, but there are so few players with a game as interesting as hers...I can't just quit her like that. I know what you mean, her game is quite interesting. However, with the game she has, I just don't understand those error-orgies she's having time and time again. It's unacceptable really. I think back to early Hingis, she never had meltdowns like that. Chak's style requires absolute consistency and stability, but she doesn't have that. It's hard to explain. Similar to Myskina actually. The problem is mental, I guess. For their gamestyles, confidence and mental toughness is essential. You have to play your game at all times and you have to believe, then you are extremely tough to beat. Myskina did that once, when she won Roland Garros. But why only once? Disappointing.

And Myskina was incredibly fortunate to win that one slam.
Their flat hitting styles are similar, but Myskina had much better athleticism and defensive skills. Whereas Chak is stronger with her attack.

Awww, I actually kinda miss Myskina dismantling top players with her defense and court-craft. The ones I hate(d) anyway. She was much better than The Chak ever was and will be, too.

However, with the game she has, I just don't understand those error-orgies she's having time and time again. It's unacceptable really. Yes, I hate this about her (or anyone's) game as well. I think we discussed it in the Rome thread, because the Cornet match was emblematic of her strengths and her weaknesses - the way she dismantled Cornet's mental and physical game from 2-3 in the first to 3-0 in the second was incredible to watch. But then she couldn't keep the ball in court for like five straight games or something. Basically, her game is deceptively high risk and it doesn't take much to throw her slightly off.
