Monfils blows a 40-15 lead twice in a row on Fed's serve. Cmon, take it to a fifth, where you'll still lose like 6-2 but whatever!

OH, majestic point! Monfils really is the real deal when he goes for it. Someone really needs to tell him the baseline = his friend.

Thanks! But, I missed it. Doesn't sound like it was the greatest match in history, but still I'd have liked to have caught what parts of it I could. I can't understand why no US tv channel whatsoever thought it worth their while to air a Slam SF starring Federer and an interesting RNS. So we get to watch for 2 weeks and then finally you get to the SFs and they just drop the ball.

It's always been like that for the 2nd Friday, thanks to NBC. Who insists on showing the 1st SF on tape, and not allowing TTC to show the 2nd SF for many hours after it occurs.

This is the same network which for years showed the WOMEN'S FINAL HOURS after it would occur. Including 1999.

Can't interrupt the cartoons.
'94 was the best when they showed both finals on delay. Frying Pan Berasategui is a draw in the US, NBC. Respect.

You guys are right, end-of-RG coverage has always been bad here. I guess I just forgot about the men's SF problem. I do remember the women's final always being on tape, and I remember that the year of Courier's second RG final, we had a Jerry Lewis telethon locally instead of the men's final. Even though a USian was playing.

This is the same network which for years showed the WOMEN'S FINAL HOURS after it would occur. Including 1999. I was posting on Sportsline, keeping the USians informed about that final. Those were the days. I recall Raketwiz (!) commenting how boring and predictable it was when Hingis was up a set and 2-0. Then the poo hit the fan and I posted "Not any more!"

I was an admin at Sportsline a few months after that. I should have banned.

Rog's outfit looks fine close up, but when the camera pulls way back he looks like Little Lord Fauntleroy with that dark blue outfit w/ white collar. That's okay; plenty of other guys like that look, too:

Hardly. I was the only regular there who say knew who Jan-Michael Gambill was. Thus, I became the filler mod for chats with tennis, soccer, WNBA... shit people don't care about.
I got to interview JMG, too. Enormous douche.

I watched a single point of Nadal d. Djokovic - it featured Nole hitting a successful dropshot IIRC, camera switches to Nadal and you could see him staring down Djokovic as if he wanted to kill him and clearly mumbling "hijo de puta".
Nadal being so thoughtful, corteous and articulate in interviews makes his downright toxic oncourt behaviour seem even more out of place.
Monfils vs Fed was occasionally entertaining, Fed really overdoing it with the cute touch shots.

Does "hijo de puta" mean "son of a whore"? He was asking for a head-butt if he said that! Zizou will be speaking with Djoko about that, I'm sure.
