Apparently Dementieva wins more three set matches than anyone else. Might I suggest thats not because shes a great fighter!!!!!!1 but because shes more likely to need three where others would just win in straight sets. Correct. She is CHOKER and FIGHTER as stated earlier. By me.

Yep, it's because she regularly gets taken to three by, e.g., Maria Elena Camerin. I actually put various social engagements on hold this week because of Wimbledon. I'm uncancelling them as I type. And risk missing Schuettler-Clement?!?! Screw the women's event! Dude! It's Schuettler-Clement! It's like 2002, except everybody's gotten a little bit balder and we're on a whole new continent! Who knows what could happen?! This kind of awesome only happens once, maybe twice in a lifetime... and you're going to blow it all for one of ... "various social engagements"? You ought to be ashamed of yourself.

Grass is weird...it makes every player's better, so doesn't that help people like Demented more than someone with an already great serve, like Venus or Serena? Depends. I think it helps Venus most because she has a very flat, erratic serve. Demented also has a very flat serve, or the ugly slice. Serena, not so much, because she most hits kicks. Demented really has the perfect game for grass with her flat, hyper-aggressive game. Odds of her keeping that aggressive, confident mindset in the next 2 matches: 1 in 2.8 sesquicentillion.

Only hope is that Wenus's weaknesses haven't been exposed yet because she hasn't played so much as a top 50 player yet, and that Demented, as a top 10 player, has sufficient quality to rectify this.
I would charitably call that hope "faint".

Not really, if by some miracle one of the SISTAHS loses in the semis, the other one will just cruise in the final. Another awkward and error plagued all siztahs encounter would be preferable to that.

But to their credit, the Sisterz are vastly superior to other players on grass. That's why dubai needs to buy the tournament and makes this a hardcourt tournament. With 100 000 000$ of price money and a 30 000 seats center court.

The last all-sistahs final was Wimbledon 2003, right? Back then I thought they wouldn't even be playing by 2008. Although, I believed they wouldn't be playing now because they would have won everything in the meantime, which obviously didn't happen. So, it's not all that bad. But Dementieva still needs to win. Heh. Right.

Fighter. Cannot wait for the 0 and 0 drubbing she'll take from Penis. Or, in this case, cockslap! That was actual laugh out loud friends going WTF? funny. I'm still a child. Anyway, I found 5 Live on my radio today somehow, so listened in, and still can't decide if the commentary or the actual tennis was shittier. The one guy openly announced he was cheering for Demented because of Nadia's attitude problem and how she threw a strop at a ball kid for throwing her a ball 2cm away from her fat ass. They were also banging on about how Tracy Austin said women's tennis had no depth. Murray's mum does some of it. Demented in the Wimbledon semi-finals = puke. Nadia wouldn't have been much better, but at least she can serve. Serve > Fat to me. A-Rad. Nikki Tammy wasn't humiliated. Tomorrow will be AWESOME.

occasionally, I have moments of weakness and start liking her a tiny bit through listening to press conferences and watching her reactions after matches like this. Then realise she's a stupid bitch.

Tanasugarn is boring. Zheng-Williams-Williams-Petrova. Corswandt was right, no use predicting the worst possible case because it always ends up even worse somehow. But when I said that Reenus would butcher Radwanska, it wasn't doomsaying. It's just an awful matchup for Rad. She can dismantle B list power hitters, particularly on slower surfaces, but against the elite she will just get flattened more often than not. Leelee sometime ago said she couldn't find anything wrong from a technical POV with Vaidisova's ROS. Here's what's wrong: she does her backswing very early, and for some reason just "locks on target", stands still and doesn't move her feet. Maybe because her swings are so wide that she remains focused on executing them instead of adjusting her position. This makes the return extremely difficult to time properly, and that's why she dumps so many of them into the net. Saw some of the 2nd and all of the 3rd and Vaidisova was missing half her shots. Really. With those swings of hers, it's a wonder how she can actually hit the ball on any low bouncing surface. Depends. I think it helps Venus most because she has a very flat, erratic serve. And very fast. Women just can't control the return of something that comes in at them that fast. They're not used to it. It doesn't even have to be that well placed. Demented really has the perfect game for grass with her flat, hyper-aggressive game. She wasn't being aggressive today. Mostly spinning back loopy BHs and hitting FHs that landed around the service line. Petrova was hitting bigger and flatter off the ground. Dementieva does move very well on grass, but she doesn't seem confident of her footing while hitting her shots, particularly the BH; kind of like Sharapova on clay, who always seems to be afraid of slipping.

That's not a technical problem. If you can see the ball, and most importantly here, are in good position, an early takeback is a positive. Nicole's footwork is horrible on all shots.
I think her long swings are something she's aware of, which is why she overuses that squash slice shot that Pornikova made fashionable. That's fine when you can play defense and chase balls down.
Nikki's best hopes are to realize that she's a B version of Leach. Swing away, and don't care.

That's not a technical problem. If you can see the ball, and most importantly here, are in good position, an early takeback is a positive. Nicole's footwork is horrible on all shots. I watched Ancic, who is just about the only player with an earlier takeback and wider swing on the FH than Nicole, attentively today, and tried to figure out if those swings were the main reason for his shite return game. Don't think so. His BH swing would be near ideal for ROS (and is quite good for attacking weak serves) if Ancic wasn't such a crap returner overall. Nikki's best hopes are to realize that she's a B version of Leach. Swing away, and don't care. Bad analogy IMHO. Leach = perfect timing. Nicole has all sorts of problems with timing because of those swings and lousy footwork - they also force her to take the ball late and play from behind the baseline. Some of the FHs she hits are WHOA!, but would be so much more effective if she had at least her feet inside the court.
