Querrey is a big goon that's solid enough from the backcourt to make a living on tour. Nobody expects him to win tennis matches against anyone good.
Leach has the purest groundstrokes in women's tennis history. And is the cause for everything bad in women's tennis.

Any match involving Querrey usually bores me to tears, and today was no different.

Poor Amelie. But I'm so glad I wasn't watching. it's one thing watching bad players playing bad tennis -- actually, come to think of it, that stinks, too -- but knowing Amelie can be so, so much better makes it such torture to watch her go into her defensive I'm-so-scared mode. Has anyone seen even one good women's match this USO? Maybe early on there were a few, but I missed them. Please tell me the lukewarmly-anticipated Li Na-ED match last night was not one of the best, with its boring crosscourt FH-to-crosscourt FH rallies, usually ending in an error. Sad to see the women's side of the sport go downhill this way. Welcome to the Tennis Cult, Mr. Hooded Claw. I hope you aren't too thin-skinned!

Eh, they're basically the same, except Leach being that way sets her apart from most, whereas it isn't enough for Querrey. But, mainly, they look alike.

The mere thought of Nadal losing to either Querrey or Fish is simply repugnant. Not that I mind either of them making the matches interesting. I'm just saying. Well Nadal could have lost to Querrey today and there's a good chance Fish with the way he's playing will take out Nadal in the quarterfinals.

If he plays big against Nadal and that's a big if, he probably wins. And Rafa often struggles against big servers on fast hard courts.

What? No. He has to play big AND Rafa has to play poorly. Possible, yes. But it is NOT solely up to Fish. I did say if Fish plays big against Nadal I think he would win. And if is the key work there. I think if Nadal played the outstanding Fish today instead of Querrey he might very well have lost. And the court on Ashe Staidium being the fastest grand slam court in the world doesn't exactly help Rafa's game.

We all know that Rafa struggles on faster surfaces. Anyways, Fish blows and has to be stopped. I'd much rather see Rafa stop him than have it come down to Murray in the semifinals. I mean, as much as I've accepted the Murray Slam and all, I'd like Fish gone before then

Hey, sorry to start the Fish could win talk.
See, he's not that good. He pounded Blake and Monfils. Monfils played poorly today.
If Rafa plays bleh like he did today, there's a minute chance Fish could blast him off the court. But, he won't. The end.
In other news, it looks like Hanna should reach New York by Sunday. The men's final could be like Tuesday.

Has anyone seen even one good women's match this USO? Maybe early on there were a few, but I missed them. Jankovic vs Wozniacki was meant to be good. I didn't see it, though. Coin vs Ivanovic wasn't great tennis, but it was compelling for the drama. I'm already scraping the bottom of the barrel. Appalling effort from A-Rad I wasn't expecting a win or anything, but we need to be winning more than 4 fucking games. I agree with Chole that Fish's continued existence at this tournament is really terrible. Luckily, he is not "probably" going to beat Rafa.

What? No. He has to play big AND Rafa has to play poorly. Possible, yes. But it is NOT solely up to Fish. I did say if Fish plays big against Nadal I think he would win. And if is the key work there. No, it isn't, because IF Fish plays big against Nadal, he still WILL PROBABLY LOSE. The key word is one you did not use, and it is "subpar" and goes before "Nadal." The result of this match is not dependent upon Fish. It is dependent upon Nadal. Obviously Nadal played spottily today and if that continues AND Fish plays big (very big), Fish could win. But if Nadal plays at his best, no matter how big Fish plays, he has no chance. Which is what I said before.

She looked ridiculously underpowered and hapless yet again, and maybe this will shut up some of her most vocal and pedantic fans for a while. Anyway, if she's the new Chris Evert then I'm the new René Lacoste.
