Yes, I think that was my favorite Maria moment as well. She was loving the Chak Attack.
Davenport drops 3 games in a win over some German girl I never heard of. It's some salvation, but she's coming away from this weekend embarassed, no doubt. I mean, Harkleroad is beating Lisicki right now. So that says something. Hopefully it teaches Davenport not to underestimate her low-ranked opponents and come out flat-footed, unfocused.

George Goven will not undoubtedly call any more upon Marion Bartoli. The selector of Blue in any case was shown outraged by the remarks of N.1 Frenchwoman, which decided not to dispute the EDF Cup and the Olympic Games knowingly. As those of his/her father and Walter trainer who had declared in the columns of the Team that it was necessary to be doped to connect Australia, China and Paris. "To type on the EDF Cup and the Olympic Games as it did does not appear unacceptable to me, Goven declared. That a trainer of father allows himself to insinuate that the players who go to China are doped, they is lamentable, pitiful and scandalous. " That does not call into question the level of play of Marion but their declarations exceed measurement. There are things unhealthy and untrue and that obstructs me ". Amélie Mauresmo will remain in any case in its small papers. "the things were always very clear with Amélie. It had many points to defend, it needed to play of the matches to find its confidence. It is ten years old of EDF Cup behind it and it always said that it would be with us with the next turn. It repeated it recently besides."

France file protest after Fed Cup defeat by China PARIS, Feb 13 (Reuters) - France have filed a protest after their Fed Cup defeat by China this month, saying it was not normal that one of the Chinese players had left before the end of the tie. China's number two Peng Shuai left the tie after the opening Friday to prepare for the Paris Open starting on the following Monday. France have written to the International Tennis Federation to protest, French federation technical director Patrice Dominguez told Reuters on Wednesday. "It's a way of showing that we disagree with the fact that a player can leave an unfinished tie with the result still in doubt," Dominguez said. "In addition she (Peng) did not attend the doping control on the Sunday night." France lost the tie in Beijing 3-2.

MOSCOW, March 31 (Reuters) - World number four Svetlana Kuznetsova will lead Fed Cup champions Russia in next month's semi-final against the United States in Moscow.
...
"We had an agreement with Kuznetsova and Sharapova that one of them would play against Israel and the other against the U.S.," Tarpishchev told Reuters on Monday. ... Tarpishchev also said he might call up Elena Dementieva depending on her availability. The 11th-ranked player beat Kuznetsova in an all-Russian final in Dubai earlier this month.
The Americans will be without Serena Williams and Venus Williams in a side spearheaded by rejuvenated former world number one Lindsay Davenport.

Sanda Mamic is pretty optimistic before the tie against Serbia. According to her "We might have a chance if all four of us played against one of them at the same time."

Ana Ivanovic is out with a fever Played today, presumably still with that fever and blood dripping from multiple wounds, since there can't possibly be a Serbian Fed Cup tie without such drama. Benesova leading Peer in the 2nd after choking away the 1st - only question is how hard will she choke now?

Benesova leading Peer in the 2nd after choking away the 1st - only question is how hard will she choke now? Won after being a break down in the third. Should be in the bag now; I mean, even if Kvitova blows it, they can't possibly lose the doubles with Kveta onboard, can they? Still laughing at China. NLV: "we may not be blonde and we may not be tall..."
