Blake That'll teach him to go into a tournament thinking he's got a chance to emerge as champion. The laurels of mere willing are dry leaves that never were green. Hmm, I've seen that before, somewhere Blake Serena I'm racist!

Uhhhhhh...they can't show the last one or two games of Justine before showing the TAPE OF AN 0 AND 1 SHARAPOVA WIN?? I said the same thing last night at my TV, except with more vulgarity.

I can't blame Dick for feeling that way during Kirilenko's match. Damn, she's such a cutie. I don't know what was up with the rags she was wearing, though.
Oh, and I'm sure it's been mentioned by many who will probably be banned at wtaworld... but, Serena will be ranked ~#40 with the 638 points she loses this week.

Wtaworld has been cute since Serena lost, with the standard "Ree will be back! She's a fighter! Watch out!" routine being belted out by her fans.
I can't believe she might not be seeded at a slam, though.
Oh, and Lindsay blows.

From Kim's official website!
Inflammation of the lowest vertebra 19-01-2006
I've been back to the hospital today as the pain in the lower back got worse and worse. The doctors diagnosed an inflammation of the lowest dorsal vertebra.
I can live with it while on pain killers, but that won't help the inflammation and in the end continuing to play only makes it worse. I won't be training or playing at all tomorrow and have treatment by an osteopath three times a day. I should take time off for recovering.
During warming up for the match against Vinci I'll decide what's next: should I still feel the same pain as during the previous match then I won't continue and return to Belgium for some proper resting and treatment. However, I'll see how far I can make it as I like it here. The Australians still see me as an Aussie, so I hope I won't have to disappoint them right now.
Keep your thumbs up! Greetings, Kim

I cannot feel sorry for a player in such a condition who continues to play; doing so makes her look like a real dimwit. The AO is not Mount Calvary, Kim, and you are not Jesus coming to save the Australian fans from the torture of a draw missing Kim. You're not even Shaq in Miami; the fans are not huddled masses yearning for your heroism. The people you are disappointing are those sports fans who hope and expect to see athletes use a modicum of common sense when it comes to taking care of themselves.
On the other hand, she keeps winning, and the punters are not at all impressed by her terminal suffering; they still give her a good shot -- she's tied for 3rd place among bettors in Australia, I just read today.

Or Amelia Island. And I don't see her playing anything more than possibly Rome during clay season. And Lindsay didn't blow too much. She played ok in the 3rd. But, there's no way she's beating Christine unless she plays much better. And doesn't choke and smile about it.

DAWN MARIE weighs in, as only Dawn Marie can, at wtaworld about the latest Kim report: "I am tired of the Kim and the injury crap during every Oz open. We don't want to hear this stuff. Either shut it up or continue to fuck up the injury. I liek Kim but this is nuts and I wish she would stop responding to the injury that she is making to herself.
it's like a druggie talking about the crack that made him high. Your doing it to yourself so either shut the fuck up or continue to cause pain to your body. Yet the average joe don't want to hear it." says average joe janie

Showing up is another thing. It's going to be hard for her to gain before RG. At the events she played last year, she made the QF of everything, and one SF. And she's not going to be seeded at those this year. Normally, I'd say she could beat the shit seeds like Dementieva, but I don't think that's even a guarentee right now. Did you see the second set of Lindsay's match? I really haven't seen her play that badly in quite a while. It was really awful stuff. I doubt she even gets by Sveta.

Kim repeats the cycle. She's had these "injuries" at three of the last five slams she's played. But she keeps playing. What bugs me is that she constantly yaps about being injured, and yet plays a ridiculous amount of tournaments. Her schedule to start this year is insane. 13 tournaments before Wimbledon.

Kim isn't injured. And if she is, it's far less serious than what she puts on. She's a lying bitch. Die.
I don't want to sound purposely mean, but she always pulls this shit now. It's ridiculous. I don't understand the reason for it... but, there must be one.

Kim isn't injured. And if she is, it's far less serious than what she puts on. Well I think she is injured, but what bugs me is she keeps playing and then says, "Oh no, it got worse!" -- and then she plays again! and again! Just another brainless athlete, only she presents it as martyrdom, since she only plays in pain because "she doesn't want to disappoint her fans". And they won't be disappointed if her stupidity leads to months away from the game? She doesn't give her fans any credit for caring more for her long-term well-being than for a chance to see her limp and cry her way through some cowed nobodies at the AO. She's as short-sighted as George Bush.

Yes. It was funny when she had the wrist problems... yet, kept doing the unnecessary splits where she rests her hand on the court to keep her balance. Then, "Oh, why I always injured! Life unfair! But, I fight! I love my fans!". She did the same thing after her knee injury.
If this hip flexor strain is really as serious as she says... she would not be able to run and swing like she is, and dominate her opponents. It's garbage.

I'm sorry, but you are quite behind the times. Kim says the hip flexor injury, which almost saw her ordering her coffin on Monday, is now healed! It's a miracle! But now it is her lower back which is inflamed. But so what? Any temporary agony or lifelong disability will be worth it, if only she can make one fan smile as she demolishes Vinci tonight!
