I wasn't, but I will try to. Athletics are sexy.

I'm watching. Bolt vs Gay is supposed to be a classic, but I'm not all that excited about it for some reason. I'm looking forward to Vlasic vs Friedrich showdown, though, although I'm half-expecting someone else to come out of nowhere and win the gold.
There's also a chance Isinbaeva loses a big title for the first time in 113918 years and Armageddon happens.

I don't even know if they're airing this at all in the States. Leelee? Not a huge athletics fan...but I like sporting events, and I like ripped guys. I'll watch bits if it's on.

Dammit. I had money on Melkanu to win the 10km and she missed out on Gold by 0.1s because she first stumbled and then celebrated too early. Felix Sanchez sucked in the hurdles. I won't say why I care. :red:

Anybody who celebrates early deserves to lose.

That race was tainted since queen Dibaba pulled out.

Felix Sanchez sucked in the hurdles. I won't say why I care. Does it have to do with the fact that when I started to Google him, "felix sanchez bulges" came up?

I immediately thought of it upon reading the post but wasn't going to say anything.

Partly. But also because he's an Olympic Gold medalist! Ralf Bartels won Bronze in shot put.

Shot put is visually gross.

Shot put is just a dumb looking event altogether.

In the US, the sport of athletics is called "Track and Field". But on tv, they pretty much stick to the track events and ignore the field, especially the throwing events. Unless a US citizen is doing well.

The throwing events are not aesthetically pleasing. Hulking men and women spinning around a lot, and screaming really loudly. I'd like to see more of the jumping events, but they take a long time... everyone getting 3 misses, and they take forever in-between.

Men's javelin has usually been aesthetically pleasing in recent years. Maybe it's because they don't spin.

I thought Jelimo was ZOMG!!!, but Isinbaeva was ZOMG!!!! x 10000. But she was being a tard for skipping everything until 4.75 so it served her right.

Yay! But it really sucks to see the winner clear only 4.75. Elena could jump higher while asleep. This really hasn't been a good year for her. Now, www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-bqET22vEUThis is a 17 year old girl. How. I mean, I don't want to be a bitch, but really, how.

I have a hard time keeping my panties on while watching sprinters getting into the blocks.
That is all.
Oh and Usain Bolt. So would. Yup.

In Berlin. Anyone watching? I used to watch a lot of athletics during my "omnisports" phase (roughly 1993-1998). Mostly for the eye candy - spectacular amazons in revealing outfits. Athletics broadcasts really could use a similar device to that interactive/court selection thingie they use at the Slams. That way I could ogle at the svelte jumpers and ignore all the less glamourous events. To actually answer the question, a few minutes here and there. Busy week.

If you ignore that he's a super athlete freak, Bolt actually almost sort of looks his age.

How do they determine that a sex test is necessary, anyway? I mean, "is unusually masculine" would cover a number of female track athletes, depending on your definition of masculine.
