Bahdatis WON? ? WOOHOOO!!!! Amazing!!! As for the women, this is a dream final for me. We should see some great tennis -- just hope Mauresmo does not retreat into her Olympic-final passive/defensive/scared mode.

I disagree, Lurker. A Fed comeback would be easier to rationalize... this is devastating for Devastating Dave. He had a chance to reach a major final without facing anyone higher ranked than Robredo and blew it.

Poor Dave. He really blew it in the 5th set. That's gonna be tough to come back from.

So just me and janie are happy about the Marcos win? Two poor old ladies I have to say, I expected some sort of a meltdown from Fatty because ... well, because it is what he usually does -- blows chances. I just did not expect it to be so gross ::

What happened to KC: Can you call it poetic justice? Btw, I'm asking this as a non-native English speaker, not as KC basher

You had a face lift, Brinyi? In fact, I did. Do you think it's an improvement from my former appearance?

Marcos!!
Pathetic from Dave though..
And Amelie! I don't care how you win the slam, just win it! Janie, I honestly didn't think Amelie played badly in the Olympics final... my impression was Justine played shockingly well.. her one good match that whole year (after Indian Wells).. maybe Amelie could have done something different, but I just think she was outmatched. I love justine as well, but it would be sooo nice for Amelie just to win one.
Hopefully Amelie will play with guts tomorrow, but I don't anticipate it. I'll be surprised if she wins a set.

Amelie's run to the final has been really bizarre. Two retirements and two virtual walkovers. I really like her but I can't possibly be excited at this. Justine better be winning the final now. I think that is unfair in the extreme. Yes, Krajicek retired ... down 6-2. Yes, she crushed Vaidisova and Schnyder ... that's pejorative? Her match with Kim was by no means over, but Amelie was winning it. Give her credit. She deserves it.

No Antwerp? Nope. She's out at least eight weeks. I'm sensing "I better! Love home country!" for Antwerp, though.

Kim will have to make it up by winning Hasselt again this year. And only losing 2 games.

What's that big ass strapping on her thigh.

I'm guessing for the hip. But, who knows.

I read that in compensating for her back/hip injuries, she injured her hamstring, so maybe the strapping was for that. Though Justine just had that bizarre little square patch thing for her 6-mos. hamstring thing. What good could that little square thing do; almost like some witch-doctor cure.
