If somebody follows this up with a gross photo of Kariya, I'm closing the thread ;D ;D This thread is called resurrected. Threatening of closure is absolutely pointless. ;D

No, closure is possible. It's threatening death (deletion) that would be of little use ;D What happened with the Pens was that they were up 3-2 with about 2.5 minutes to go when somebody did something really boneheaded (might have been Gonchar) which resulted in a Floriday goal. So then with just over a minute to go, Mario takes a penalty... which he didn't think should have been a penalty, so he exploded all over the refs and caused a bit of a scene. Florida scores almost immediately in overtime... and there it is. Mario storms out of the box to scream at the refs again. Then Mario, along with most of the other guys, refuse to talk to the press. Leaving Crosby to clean up. Meaning more positive press for Crosby www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20050914.wcrosby14/BNStory/Sports/

Nashville finally lost one, although just barely, in OT. The honour goes to the Blue Jackets. I knew it, if they ever lose one, it will be to a bad team . Ooops, wrong smilie, should be .

Are you on comcast? Here, we can buy the NHL package if we have comcast digital. They are really cheap too, almost cost me the same to watch all the 82 Canucks games (plus all the 82 games of all the other 29 teams if I'm crazy enough) here as what I'll have to pay for a 17 game PPV Canucks games in Vancouver. Should check that out if you have Comcast there. I have Cox here. Anyway, I hardly have time to watch any prime time TV, let alone extra PPV for hockey games. Do you have OLN? the new network for the NHL? They show like one game once in awhile and repeat the same game later the same day. It's better than nothing. Well, I only have time to watch all the Canucks games . I'm still amazed that I managed to find things to do to fill up my no hockey time during the lockout.

It's a pity they weren't in the Eastern Conference. Losing to the Pens would have been a little funnier. Columus is pretty bad though ;D

Anyway, Cox somehow grouped some stations like ESPN Classic, OLN and others into a Sports Tier and have to pay extra for those stations which were used to be on my digital tier. And I refused to pay that extra every month. It's more the principal thing.

And it's tough when Derek Morris, Daniel Gauthier and Oleg Saprykan are playing for the Yotes. When I hear their names, I still thought they are Flames.

Darren Pang is the commentator for the Yotes on Fox Sports Net - Arizona. And he's good. You are lucky then. I think I know who Darrne Pang is but I may be wrong. The coverage I got is mostly from FSN, once in awhile I got Sportnet from Canada which is so much better in terms of the commentating. I can't stand the American commentators, they are always so melodramatic.

Pens win. Woohoo. And hubby said I should cheer for the Yotes No offense to the Yotes and The Great One. But thou should always cheer for THE team that make thou feel passionate for the sports. I went to a Seattle Thunderbirds game once, they played against a BC team. I was so bored the whole game because I couldn't decide on which team I should cheer for and ended up feeling indifferent to the result .

Yes, he impress me because he's not melodramatic but very down to earth. The captain of Yotes, Shane Doan wore a mike with him during the game. They played some of the tape during intermission. Probably with very carefully editing ;D

The Yotes works very hard to build up interest in kids. Tonight is Fall Festival in little Lee's school and they have 2 guys here with hockey sticks and an inflatable big goal net (about 10' tall) and the kids can shot at the 5 hole of the big goalie.

My first and only live hockey game... well, NHL... I've seen lots of minor hockey live... was in the playoffs a few years ago when Toronto still had Cujo. My friend had achoice between game one or game two of the series against the Sens. We picked game 1, which was a 0-5 route. Game 2 went to three over times

I think that I'll try to get to a Leafs game after Christmas sometime. Ideally I want to be there for a game against the Pens, but the first one was sold out a while ago.. I keep checking ebay but the prices are pretty high, so we'll see
