Akgul and Barrois won the first set over (9) Chan / Zheng. And it's on ESPN3! On Court 17! How I love this ESPN3.

Is it wrong that I'm rooting for A-Rod over Kuz? Shes a bit of a bitch, but an entertaining one.

Just watched the end of Sveta/Rod match and Sveta "I'm friends with everyone and even playing doubles with Rezai" refused to shake hands with Rodionova. What happened there?

My stream was being crappy so I turned it off after mp, so I missed that. I imagine it was because Rod was complaining about everything as usual, and she even suggested the line judges were making calls after Kuz had pointed.

Good Lord. 70-68. More LULZ. My mother is confused as to why I think this is the most hilarious thing ever. I have to watch sports centre tonight now, for more lulz. People in my training class at work were even talking about this shit.

The coverage I got today on SportTV3: Murray (FFWD), then a few games of Pushniacki (ZZZZZZ), then the Greatest Match of All Time (FFWD), then an interruption for Carlos Queiroz' presser (which was actually welcome, but FFWD), then Nadal (FFWD).

Just watched the end of Sveta/Rod match and Sveta "I'm friends with everyone and even playing doubles with Rezai" refused to shake hands with Rodionova. What happened there? Sveta can be a bit of a bitch herself when her opponents rub her the wrong way. I remember a match vs Fedak in Rome a few years back in which Sveta went out of her way (repeatedly) to try to smash a ball into Fedak.

Back now. Exhaustion. Had such a great day, I love Wimbledon.
Totally disagree that it's been boring so far. The first day alone was completely weirdly compelling, first days are never like that. This is probably the heat and Pimms speaking but it feels like this Wimbledon has a real dream-like, delirious quality to it. Delirious and also hilarious, obviously.
Proper report to follow if I recover, I guess. I saw Kvitova/Zheng (entire thing! it was really good!), Chardy/Lacko, Rezai/Zakopalova, the end of That Match on the big screen, the last game of Zahlavova-Strycova/Hantuchova, Petzschner/Kubot and Morita/Cibulkova.

Oh yeah, and while we were watching Chardy on Court 19, we could see Court 18, and we heard Pennetta finish off Niculescu at 2.30pm. The next match was That Match, but it was NB 3.30pm, so there would be an hour of dead court. And yet not one person moved from their seats or the fence overlooking it.

I read that John McEnroe left his commentating duties so he could sit in the stands for That Match. And now that it's all over and I'm not expected to watch it or anything, I kind of like what happened. Looking forward to your reports!

John Isner (USA) d. Nicolas Mahmut (FRA) ... 70-68 in a hell of a tennis match! I felt bad for Mahut from France in the post-match shenanigans, however. Losing a tennis match like that had to be crushing. Next year, Ivo Karlovic (CRO) needs to be healthy for 2011 Wimbledon and play John Isner from the United States of America on the grass courts and play 178691-178689 that lasts 47 months and Wimbledon in Great Britain in England in London is never played again. The end. Excellent.

Poor Mahut.

Indeed. I haven't watched the ceremony yet, on account of having already had too many laughs today. I will do that when I get back from my trip out of town this weekend.
I think that me and Mahut's mother were the only ones rooting for him, too. But hey, he gets a free vacation! And to be "hey, it's that guy" for the remainder of his career!

I got bored and watched the last game and ceremony just now. More lulz! But jesus, poor Mahut. Imagine losing a match 2342343-2342341, trying to leave the court, then being told you have to stick around to talk and collect some glassware. I'd be pissed.

I think that me and Mahut's mother were the only ones rooting for him, too. Not true. I was thinking of you and how you must have been pleased with Mahut's moment of glory. I was also thinking of looking for the famous Mahut pic from a few years back, but couldn't be bothered finally.

It was literally tourist tat from the gift shop - mugs and a tie, I believe.

The real winner yesterday, and the day before that, and the day before that. What should have happened to the Brits who kept him on the court for a mug.

Riodionova stuff from the Daily Mail: Former French Open champion Svetlana Kuznetsova was so disgusted by her antics that she took the highly unusual step of refusing to shake hands after a second-round defeat. ‘Once again I DO NOT REGRET about shaking the hand,’ she tweeted afterwards. What opponents feel is that Rodionova deliberately stirs trouble on court by arguing about anything, and they go into a match unnerved by the likelihood that there will be trouble of some sort. Three years ago Rodionova became only the second player in WTA Tour history to get defaulted when she started firing balls into the crowd in Cincinnati. ‘She could start a row in an empty house,’ says one coach. Her equivalent on the men’s tour, incidentally, is a chap called Daniel Kollerer from Austria, the world No 110. Last month in a club league match in Austria his opponent Stefan Koubek became so enraged that he tried to throttle him at a changeover and got disqualified.
