THANK YOU. DJokovic's shirt has been bothering me all match. His hat, too. WTF is that pattern supposed to be, faux ink? I hate Sergio Tachini for this. Is that what they're called? Who cares, they're awful. Nadal could come out in plaid shorts and a mismatched polo, again, dressed like every other idiotic fratboy in this city, and he'd still be wearing the better outfit.

Trotsky wastes no time giving the break back. Just lose already. Oh, Trotsky. Yeah, that makes way more sense than "Troicki'. I wondered why the commentators were pronouncing a "ts" when there wasn't one. I need glasses.

I feel like Djokovic is on the verge of coming out dressed in actual Ed Hardy, these days.
God, that game was long and horrible.

If Grothosova could somehow have a good bashing day and knock out Mariabot, we're guaranteed an awesome finalist. Gooo. You have to know this probably isn't going to happen. I know nothing about Groth, I merely know that I want this to happen way too much for it to actually occur. Points to Sharapova though: a simple dress, appropriately cut for her broad shoulders, and a good color on her. She looks good. Every time she has the good sense not to wear spaghetti straps, props must be given.

Groth up 3-0. It's not an impossible upset, Groth has had a good summer. And she's a big dumb basher that won't let Maria play offense, thus it's a perfect matchup. I can hope.

I did dare to put on the Groth match and it started turning around right away so I had to turn it off! But I watched long enough to agree with Chloe about the Maria dress.
Yes, I would love for Lucic to beat JJ. And she's one player who would not melt/whine under a sudden media glare. And she really has shown courage.

Yeah, Lucic is a great story, and one that deserves to be told. And she's persevered so hard, for a long long while it looked like her comeback would be a total failure.
Unsurprisingly, one place that isn't telling it is sonyericssonwtatour.com, which somehow manages to completely gloss over why Lucic fell off tour. Not even a token mention of "personal problems", because that would be tantamount to admitting that life isn't all sunshine and sweetness on the SEWTA. Just some total guff about holding on to dreams.

Well, Mirjana herself is trying to stay off those topics herself these days. "family problems" is all she's willing to say. I'm so glad she's put all that behind her, so I don't mind the wta glossing over it.
Actually I don't mind what they or anyone says about her, I just want to see her keep on succeeding and being as happy as she looked today.

First set to Groth, but she doesn't win any points when I'm watching, so in fairness to her, I can't watch. Sadly I see that my live stream for this tournament is going to be all start-stop, start-stop. It's only the 2nd day and that's already getting old.
