Thanks for posting the draw! I didn't even know the time had come. Wish some of this would be televised. For example I'd love to see Polansky play, since I root for him so much.

I will barrack for the Bulgarian Abs, the Gooch, Dancin' Frank, Mr. Gadjosova, Peter P, Burt Reynolds, Roger Vaseline, Donald Young-Lol, and the Irish person who I think won a round in the main draw last year.

I was reading today that in Japan it is illegal for a married couple to have different surnames. In a small percentage of cases, this results in the husband taking his wife's maiden name.

And how old is "young" G. Lapentti by now -- surely he's 30 or 40. It's nice of you to keep on rooting for him, Brinyi. You were probably Jeanne Evert's biggest fan, too, right?

Favourite On Name Only. I believe it was coined by Molala, although Sjengster2 and Hurley will surely claim it. I like Gio - saw him a couple of times and he had a more interesting game than Nico, albeit not the talent. He'll be 28 later this month.

Poor Viola (FONO) Glad that Matteo "Sweet Music" Viola has a fan. I've been noticing his name in draws but had not yet bumped him to FONO status.

How old is Kindlmann? He's been around for eternity it seems.
And who's Alexander Lobkov? Is Australia the first time that he has left the former Soviet countries?

I definitely did not come up with FONO. Which means S2 will now also not try to claim it. Gooch and Grothosova This is what happens when I try to throw the locals some bones.

I guess Kindlmann is the ultimate career bumpkin. He is 28 and reached his career high of 130 in 2004.
Looks like Lobkov is just 20yo and was an okay jr (top 50). He had quite a bit of success on the Futures circuit in late 2010 and evidently got his ranking up to GS qualy level.

On another note, I like how Brin Yi keeps the "meaningless exhibitions" fight alive and well. Do you, by chance, remember who that fight was with? Does it go all the way back to CBS?

This I don't remember at all. I think it had to do with someone claiming that Kournikova's exhibition win over Hingis (or someone) was real.

George Jones joined Burt Reynolds on the sidelines, but at least he can croon a sad country song about it.
He stopped winning here today They placed a wreath upon his door And soon they'll carry him away He stopped winning here today
