That was Cervanova not Cerkovska. As always, I'm an idiot. This Fathead-Isner match is bug servin' gold.

Troicki complained the other day how he's on the verge of ENTERING THE TOP 10, yet NO ONE CARES and how he's always overshadowed by Djokovic. Hehe. He's right, isn't he? If Djokovic didn't exist, he'd be a big deal, right? Probably. That's what he says - when Our Nole was about to enter the top 10, everybody talked about him, and now when he's doing to the same, nobody notices him. Which is true, but to be fair, Djokovic was always more promising than him. Anyway, I like it when people bitch about Nole.

But it's basically SEWATP, we just don't realize it because the Top 6 are so good. I always say wta is like ATP if the best men players of the world died in a plane crash and now Monfils and Wawrinka had to fight for the number 1 ranking.

Apparently Barrois' mom died not so long ago, which is probably the reason for her bad results lately... Oh no! Poor kid.

In all this discussion about that bum Troicki, I'm not sure if it has been pointed out he lost to Lu today. Flo. Gorila resurgence. Doi marches on.

Llodra But this is sad: Rohan Bopanna and Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi squandered a match point in an action-filled first round clash to make an early exit from the men’s doubles event of the Wimbledon championships here on Thursday.
The fourth seed Indo-Pak pair lost 6-2, 2-6, 19-21 to unseeded Colombian pair of Juan Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah at court number six.
The Colombians came back strongly after losing the opening set and went on to stun the 2010 US Open finalist.
The match turned into a keen bout of nerves in the third and final set, in which 40 games were played.
Bopanna and Qureshi had a chance to finish the match in their favour in the 30th game but the gritty pair of Cabal and Farah not only survived but raised their game further in the subsequent games.
The unseeded Colombian duo finally converted the chance in the 40th game to storm into the second round.

There are two links to matches on the BBC, one says Li Na vs Lisicki, the other says Na Li vs Lisicki.
I can't chose.

Lisicki was down two matchpoints, hit 4 massive serves to hold and now 0-30 on Li Na's serve at 5-4 final set. Hope she can break for 5-5. I want her to win now even though I started the match rooting for Li Na.

I want her to win now even though I started the match rooting for Li Na. This post made me decide to tune in. I love it when I switch who I'm rooting for mid-match! Now after watching that serve game I'm rooting for Sabine, too. Good stuff!

Zak won her all-Czech encounter with Safarova. Nice win for her.
Lisicki won which is great. 17 aces. Now ... Doi. Hopefully no letdown.
We have Lisicki-Doi and Ivanovic-Cetkovska for a spot in the quarters probably against Serena. Maybe Bartoli. Wasn't there another recent Slam draw that opened up for Ivanovic only for her to lose pathetically? Don't say it can't happen again!
LISICKI TO THE SEMIS!
Re: Troicki, oh well. Wawrinka's been in the same position for years.

Hopefully not. I like the one-handed backhand boys to succeed. Isner losing to Almagro on GRASS. Like Querrey, it seems he's taking a step back this season. I think I meant to say something about Rog and Nalbandian in the last post but forgot to write anything. So I'll just say it would be shocking if Fed lost that one but he needs to be careful. David will come to play with no pressure and might give him a run. Malisse in the third round. And I think he has a chance to reach round 4. How come Lu can only play at Wimbledon? Baghdatis, in my book, is the most useless player on Tour, lol. I'm sure he'll roll over for Novak really nicely.

Li Lisicki IAWP though. Radwanska lost to Cetkovska! Now come on. Everyone knows this is A-Rad's tournament where she proves (in her own mind at least) that she is a "top player." Guess what, chica. Dimitrov has a stupidly ripped core...at least he did when he was non-legal.

BACK So pissed off about the Li/Lisicki result - I expected it but the match points hurt - I like Lisicki so what I'm pissed off about is the draw, mostly. Why couldn't fucking Wozniacki draw Sabine? Would've loved to see JWT/Six-Pack Grigor. Was it more a big statement from the kid or Tsonga being a dummy once again? Glad the CC crowd got the Soderling/Chewitt epic, hate both of them though so can't even delight too much in Chewitt losing I got to the queue much later than usual because helpfully the District line was doing between Earls Court and Wimbledon because of signal failure or whatever. Well DONE all involved. Is it too much to ask TFL to actually work when it should. When I got in we ended up watching Paszek/McHale first (soooo many queues around the other courts, had been hoping for Schiavone/BZS on Court 3 but that wasn't gonna happen). Ended up sitting next to Paszek's coach and dad, their constant barks of AUF MIMI were a bit disturbing. I first saw Paszek play a couple of courts over from where she was today back in 2007, and was blown away by her then. It's...kinda sad to see the same player four years on look so ordinary. I mean, you can tell from the scoreline, she had too much clout for McHale - who was way more aggressive than I expected her to be, and who should probably work at integrating net play into her game cuz her volleys were mostly excellent, but who was essentially too underpowered. Paszek looked decent but there was absolutely nothing left of the supernova kid who looked like she had a potentially elite game. She just looked like any old solid top 100 baseliner, little creativity and few wow shots. Last set of Silliams/Halep on the big screen. Serena is playing better and better, looking like she's regaining a lot of her power already. Halep, as per every time I've seen her, is terrible and utterly weapinless, and the fact that she is considered a promising up-and-comer bodes terribly for the WTA. Tanasugarn/Kirilenko was such an aggravating match. Kirilenko is just the most annoying Sharapova wannabe and her grunt is heinous - as loud as Sharapova except Sharapova at least has the decency to hit massive groundstrokes with her noises - Kirilenko goes HUUGHHH-UGHHHHH like she's putting her entire effort into it, but what you get are pathetic mid-court fluffballs. Tanasugarn of just a few years ago would have eaten her for breakfast but she's just too old and slow and erratic now (and whatever problem she took a medical time-out for wasn't helping). On the rare point when Tanasugarn was in full flow, though, the whooshing sound of her racquet connecting to the ball was just so pure and clean. Rain! Not much. We gossiped with a friend who works in tennis. Petkovic is a sweetheart IRL and Azarenka is a massive bitch. No surprises there. Tursunov/Melzer. I didn't go in with a rooting interest, in fact I thought I preferred Dima slightly more (sexier) (they are both sexy) (why do you think we attended this match). Melzer totally won the crowd over though with a ton of amazing setpiece/touch points - he basically won every "highlights reel" point there was, especially his run after another rain break at 2-2 to the end of the first set. The weird thing about the second set is that Melzer still played a bunch of great points and didn't exactly fall apart, but just missed a few at inopportune moments, Tursunov started returning really well and all of a sudden Melzer was down 0-4 (and the set quickly followed). Melzer was broken in the third thanks in large part to a lucky netcord, and he gave us our first IRL tantrum of Wimbledon (but couldn't even smash his racquet properly, smh). He STILL looked like the better player though, even though Tursunov was hardly playing badly, and the crowd had wound up pretty pro-Melzer. Luckily for them, Tursunov had a severe bout of Women's Tennis when it came to serving out the set, culminating in a horrible double fault. From there to the end of the set the tennis was superb from both - though Melzer was the deserving winner of the TB. Went for a wander on our way to the exit after that (it had been an unusually sedentary day, caught Petkorazzi and Ivanovic wrapping up their doubles against Craybas and Chang. They did the Petkodance afterwards! Then we got swamped by Ivanovic fanboys, ugh. I had to make it clear out loud that I'd only been watching for Petkovic. The perv fans are the WORST Sighted wandering around: Richard Williams looking for his way into Court 2 for Serena's match. Really thin legs, I'd never noticed before. Later on, Ayumi Morita in pink hotpants. The new Court 3...I'm not sure it's good for grounds pass holders. Part of the joy of a grounds pass is wandering from match to match and NOT queueing all the time - and all that one more show court means is one more court with massive queues attached if you want to get in (and once in you then have to stay there to keep your seats). And it draws away a lot of the matches that you could have otherwise just wandered up to. I miss the old Court 6, it was so tranquil and tucked away

Report Would have loved to have seen Dima/STD It's weird, I was just re-reading my reports from USO '07, and they are extremely dismissive of Titsy. I remember being thoroughly disappointed. But not so much as to stop supporting her. She is no world-beater, but she gets the job done. Less so now.

Thanks, Lex! Just the boost I needed to get back into the swing of it this year, after some early disappointments left me kind of indifferent. I have to disagree with this, though: "Sharapova at least has the decency to hit massive groundstrokes with her noises - Kirilenko goes HUUGHHH-UGHHHHH like she's putting her entire effort into it, but what you get are pathetic mid-court fluffballs." ... because that's exactly what bugs me the most about Sharapova's shrieks -- she screeches just as loudly when she's hitting weak mid-court FHs as when she lets go with the big boomers. Watching this hurts my brain, causing a cognitive dissonance headache. I'm sure opposing coaches must alert their charges to this stupid phenomenom. Of course I have to concede that MK hits more weak shots over the course of a match than MS does, but when they do hit them, both are equally guilty of that trick. Hilarious that Aza is a bitch. So why can't she say bitchy things about the other players in her PCs and make it fun for us, like in the Hingis era? Why not just be an out-there bitch; the Tour needs this.

Yeah, I've seen Sharapova do that a lot actually Janie. The worst, even though I like her, is MJMS, with her huge drawn-out UGHHHHHHHHs on nothing FHs and drop volleys.
Azarenka isn't a "say bitchy things about others" bitch, she's a "rude and unpleasant and entirely lacking in social graces" bitch.
