I caught the third set of the Pennetta match on TTC, and I'm watching this one since 3-1 in the first. Well that's a pretty small sample size, don't you think? Pennetta indeed self-destructed from that point on. Kerber did very well to win the 3rd against Radwanska who wasn't playing badly, and also played great against Niculescu. Opponents which she would not have beaten with her old passive game. But it's moot because Samanathsa Strosur will be playing the US Open Final 2011 at 4 pm on Sunday, September 11th 2011.

Given that she's been playing for years and years in the bottom half of the Top 100, I can only utilize what her level of tennis has provided to me. Anyway, Samantha has taken my advice and started constructing points. And, yes, Kerber has self-destructed herself. I'm not really happy to have Kerber be tonight's bogeyman, but this would just be way too out there for SEWTA's good.

Yeahhhhh you can't wait for her to make errors, Smanatatahana. You need to PLAY TENNIS. When you don't play tennis, you lose a million games in a row.

Kerber has been working with Petko recently who actually predicted her deep run here. I have seen her play before quite a few times, something has definitely changed. There's a great dynamic going in Germany's women's tennis where everyone is improving together. Now if she can keep this up is another question.
Meanwhile, she's hopefully pulling a Chanda Rubin here.

Set to Andy I bet Serena & Woz are enjoying this turn of events!! Ha, I was just thinking the same thing. Everyone was horrified Sam & Angie had to play on the Grandstand, but now Sam is off to the showers and her next opponent is still cooling her heels waiting for God knows how long to go on. And now the announcers are saying the night crowd has to be let in so that will be an additional delay. I thought this was the night crowd!
