I really really really hope Oudin wins that one, like 0-6 7-6(13) 6-0, 17 match points along the way. This...nearly happened. Robson was 6-3 *5-0 40-0 up and then somehow Oudin had points to get back to 5-5. It took Robson 11 MPs to get over the finishing line It's so weird watching Slam qualies online. I appear to be watching Rodionova against Larriere right now. Vandeweghe wins five games off Ormaechea Keep failing, Coco. The younger Pliskova lost to Pavlovic, too, talking of overhyped juniors. Losses for Akgul, Bukkake, Doi, Sema Minor Wins for Puig, Jani

Ah. This is why they don't usually bother streaming Slam qualies. Larriere opens with two DFs and a shanked BH that has yet to land.

Yvonne Meusburger wins a tennis classic against Julia Cohen 75 60. This video has been posted on TF. It's hilarious and mean.

Poor Akgul! She had to retire from her match in one of those warm-up events, so I'm not surprised she couldn't get the win here. I just hope she's not heading into a second year in a row hampered almost the whole time by injury. I like Coco, but that's an exciting win for young Paulita O.

Babos chumped up her section - lost an epic to permanent Hidden Worlder Pavlovic. Khromacheva benefited from another Kulikova injury in Q1 but she's in the final round now. A junior actually coming good? Unlike Puig - who on earth loses to Flipkens? Krunic d. Craybas

Oh, Lucic. Why, why? But it's exciting to see MJ Koehler coming into her own here! She followed up her (8-6 in the 3rd) win over 6th-seed Doi with another 3-set win over MEC. This is HUGE for MJK.

Heh, I forgot about the Portuguese fans at Teen Forum. They're hilarious! But I'd think they'd love MLDB and not MJK. There sure was never much TF interest in Neuza Silva, and she was a decent player, even if plagued by injuries. Though maybe the super-intense Portuguese kids may have hit TF only after the Neuza era.

She has the WORST fans on the World, though. She really and truly does. Anyway, good to see a whole bunch of WTFs in the final round. Some of this deadwood lurking in the Hidden World needs to be CUT OUT. Khromacheva is only 16, correct? When was the last time we had a good 16-year-old? MLDB? She turns 17 in May, would be interesting to see if she can crack Top 100 before that. Speaking of crazy Russian children, where is Satantseva?

Even qualifying would only put Khromacheva in the lower half of the top 300. There are so many touted juniors stalling in the 100-300 area. In this draw alone, so many chumped up - Cepelova, both Pliskovas, Babos, Puig, Mladenovic, Mestach...
The Devil's Child just missed the cut, which was unusually high this year.
Keys (in the MD on a WC) is probably another 16-year-old to watch. But in her own flattering-to-deceive news, she spent the rest of the autumn after her impressive USO doing nothing in the Hidden World.

The Pliskovas are going nowhere and fast. As for Mladenovic, she had a good run to end 2011 but I guess she's never going to be consistent enough to make a real run.
Mestach sucks, Puig sucks, I don't know who Cepelova is, Babos...maybe will put it together soon.

I really do think Khromacheva, Putintseva, and Svitolina are showing enough mettle in the ITFs to prove they're the ones to watch. What they might lack in pure talent (especially Putin) they more than make up for in bitchy arrogance, which I think is more important these days.

Well, that was an anticlimax. Khromacheva loses in the qualifying round to BRATCHIKOVA Isn't Satantseva like five foot one or something? At least Voegele halted the mini-Brito resurgence. Slam debuts for Pavlovic (!!! after so many years!), Ormaechea (at first time of trying, I think), Koehler, Savinykh.

Yes, I jinxed her Yes, Putin is 5'1" but her ego is 97'3. Pavlovic really never got a French WC? Disappointing that a few more debutantes couldn't make it, but very happy for Riske!

Bratchikova in the main draw of a Grand Slam, after not even being able to get past the QFs of the Nigerian 25Ks a few months ago.

Apparently Pavlovic did get a RG WC back in 2009 Lost to Amanmuradova in 1R. Only ever finished the year in the top 200 once in seven years (at 200, lol, in 2010). THE NEW JEEPERS

Probably more like Janie's Next Betina Jozami, but that's good too. Ha! Well, maybe not her, but Next Jorgi Cravero (CHR 106! ), I'd be happy with that. I have to be! After all, I've backed far worse Latina horses. I'm pretty sure I started an Estefania Craciun thread at TF a few years ago. Oh no! I really did. In fact that thread is the 2nd thing that comes up if you google her name! www.tennisforum.com/showthread.php?t=297052My Latino/Latina issue is so out of control.
