LOL at Troicka!
I had a feeling Shitra would show up. Now watch King come out of that quarter.

The BAG fans made a thread at TF boasting that this is the first time since 2009 that she's gone beyond the 2R at four Slams in a row These are things normal fanbases would be embarrassed by.

Amazing tennis from Kukushkin right now - played so bravely to break despite fucking up a smash on his 2nd BP, and now he's unstoppable I saw a bit of Kukushkin from Paris coverage last year. He reminded me a bit of Kohlschreiber - not a physically imposing specimen, but a good mover and good shotmaker, and name beginning with hard K.

Some of Sweta's errors are making me wince even by Sweta's standards. WTF was that FH? I sat through the first set of that horror-show. I don't get why Sveta plays so badly, especially against players who aren't in her league. She doesn't appear to be in great shape, either.

Sweta does look chubbier than usual. I really don't get her, her FH is specifically designed to be a safe shot with her massive topspin. But, she misses them constantly and many times in the net.
I wonder what her legacy will be with her 2 slam wins taking advantage of hopeless Russians. Because she is a real waste of talent.

I wonder what her legacy will be with her 2 slam wins taking advantage of hopeless Russians. Because she is a real waste of talent. The last few years have not been legacy-builders. But maybe she has a Pierce-like revival in her. It's true that her 2 Slams did come at the expense of Dementieva and Safina but it's only fair to note that she beat Slam champs Davenport and Serena en route. I wonder whether Kuzzy's movement is hampering her shotmaking. She misses into the net a lot as you've noted. That can happen when you don't really reach a shot in time or set up poorly for a short ball. Or maybe something's up with her technique. She might be closing the racquet face too soon leading to UEs into the net?
