So Chrissie Evert wonders if Makarova ('88) "grew up watching Zvonareva" ('84).

Zvonareva lost a brutal first set TB to Makarova with one million unforced errors.
Errani thumped Cirstea at the end, lulz. First R16 at a Slam for her.
Boy, Zheng is eating CAKE alive at the moment. 4-0. The winner of that match gets Errani so it's basically for a bye into the quarters.

So Chrissie Evert wonders if Makarova ('88) "grew up watching Zvonareva" ('84). I haven't mentioned it yet, but Chrissie is still a horrendous analyst that admits she barely follows the game. Lord knows why ESPN hired her after blowing on NBC for so many years.

Errani was brilliant though.
Vera is so ... average. Especially with her outbursts missing.

I'm not worried about Ivanovic. So of course Petra will lose.
Oh, Bepa. I don't know if I can deal with your weeping and collapsing anymore now that I know you could be actually sane and good.

Errani was brilliant though. I mean, it's hard not to look like a tennis genius when you're playing one of the bigger 'tards on Tour. Errani has put together a very solid Top 40 career and had a couple of decent runs over the last year. But, I will sum up my point thusly: Errani? Really? No.

Makarova was hitting stupid winners when I was watching, so she probably didn't have much chance anyway. And Bepa would have lost next round anyway in painful fashion, so whatevz.

I want to watch Fit Dave, but Chelala is such a hideous player to watch. Stand 20 feet behind the baseline, loop FHs forever, ugh.

Mahut with an airshot on BP. Nole's opposition is depressingly bad so far.

Mahut is the worst returner on tour. At least Ivo gets them in when he bothers to reach for them.
Errani-Zheng for the QF. Should be a Corswandt special.

Lisicki getting bludgeoned by Sweater. ESPN promised me this would be a "corker." I'm suing.

Sweta is a better chance to beat Mashabot, so I'm fine with Lisicki sucking.

The thing with Sweater is that she could be up 6-2 5-2 and I would be no more sure she would win or lose the match than I would be at any other point.

Yeah. So that happened.
So why is everyone on ESPN shocked about Gasquet beating Tipsarevic? I love Snotso and it's nice that he's cracked the Top Ten, but we all know Gasquet is a much better player, and we all picked him to come through this section. Right?

Sweater decided to play a different sport in the third set, which is why her ranking is collapsing faster than Zvonareva's.
Good fightback from Sabine, but Maria is going to murder her.
Oh, wait. Sabine just blew 3 MPs. SEWTA!

Monfils, sheesh! Llodra, what was that Sveta and Vera? Glad I disowned them both a little while ago. I could care less now when they win and lose. I remember following Errani in her Hidden World days. Never thought in a million years she'd come anywhere near this far
