Why do people find these chicken chests hot? Anyway, I'm glad this is over no matter the outcome because I feared my mom would have a heart attack if it had kept going. I'm not into chests. I like legs and backs.

Entire Sunday spent watching this match and I don't even get the reward I deserve. Yes. And all this after giving us a hope in the 5th.

So weird to remember how poor that match was at the start.
NOLESLAM? Rafa the Venus to Nole's Serena?
Chole, it was 5hrs 53 mins.

Why do people find these chicken chests hot? I have no idea, he's so skinny. LOL @ Rafa and Nole trying to find different ways not to stand there and get some rest. Well done for getting them chairs!

Aww! Someone brought them chairs, and water. How about some electrolytes now to stave off the leg cramps?

LOL, neither of them is looking delighted by being there. Understandable with Rafa, but funny with Novak.
And ES2 is replaying the 5th set, while ES1 is showing the ceremony.

Always amazed that after such epic battles every player can still remember to be bothered about all the sponsors and brands brands brands.

LOL @ the casual viewers on my timeline proclaiming this match as the Greatest match ever. The quality was only occasionally there. I saw the same. I think it got pretty special towards the end but not a patch on the Fedal GOAT matches. Quality-wise the USO final last year was much superior. As an athletic feat the length did make it special though. Maybe the longest sustained baseline battle ever? Both the longest RG and Wim matches were split over two days.

Yes, the 5th set was pretty great and physicality was incredible, so it was a pretty special final. But any match where the first 3 sets can be written off as a complete non-event cannot be considered for "Greatest Ever"

I'm glad I didn't try watching that live.
The 6 hour time is exaggerated by those stallers, but huge credit to both. Especially Nole, who beat Rafa at his own fitness game.

Also, I've never really believed in Corswandt's pessimistic view that Nadal knows the only way he can win is by outlasting his opponent... but, that so happened here. In terms of tennis ability, Nole was miles better. He's better with every shot, maybe even defense at this point.

In terms of tennis ability, Nole was miles better. He's better with every shot, maybe even defense at this point. I agree. You could see it in the way he took control of the match whenever he had his head on straight. Rafa was ferocious as always and it got him pretty far. But Nole knows when he turns it on he's better. It also helps that Rafa seems unable to break his patterns much. Backhand dtl winners from Rafa? Not very many! Comfortable hitting forehands down the line? Maybe more than he used to be but I don't think enough. Still, it was a titanic effort for Rafa to even get to set five. And he did nearly win this match. He was one service break away. So I'm not sure. Will this haunt him or spur him on to finally get over the hump?
