After that incredible get off Nole's lob...and then two nothing FH errors to hand the game over.

Roger seems to play better when he's down.

I don't understand this set.
I will say this - I hope there are no more surprises in the next game. I want to see a match here. I didn't get up this early to see a straight sets beatdown!

Strategy is tough for Roger. If he plays too passive, Rafa/Nole are better athletes now and will take long rallies, and BH exchanges are a poor percentage play for him. He has to step out of his comfort range somewhat. I do think there's times he gets frustrated and plays stupidly, though.

In other news, off course, Lewandowski would score. After all I left him out of my Fantasy Football team. And i need to go home now.

Excellent point saves one bp. He was able to put everything on his forehand side there.
Djokovic's defense is ridiculous.
Christ ... hit a forehand long after a good serve which Novak somehow just snaps back.

LOL. Fed was a break up in the first, and lost it. And in this set he was a double break up AND then served for it.

Yes, he was leading but the impression I get from this match is that Djokovic's defense blunts Roger's weapons which forces him to play badly. Or give the appearance of playing badly. He is hittting good shots but Novak is forcing him to hit more and more of them same as Rafa does.

Now Roger will be broken here and this match will end in 3.

Meanwhile, Sara Errani really needs to do the double. This is her tournament, we're just watching it.

Hobak's insane return + defense throws all serving normalcy away. This is true, but it's not just that...Nole is just embedded in his head. Otherwise why all these leads being lost.

I think that has to do with, as earlier mentioned, Nole making Fed hit 3-4 winners per rally in order to win a point. JesusFed shows up in bursts and can do that for 2-3 games. Ofcourse sustaining it is an entirely different matter and at some point the errors will start flowing. I'm not saying there's no mental baggage but the playing styles have a lot more to do with it.

Weather should benefit Errani tomorrow, at least. 15-16C and cloudy/chance of showers with some wind.

If Masha doesn't win I'll still be pleased because she doesn't win the career slam. If she does she'll achieve something neither of my useless faves (Hingis & Seles) managed to achieve. So I'll be pleased with a Masha loss. But a Masha win wouldn't be the end of the world either because it could be argued that she won RG in a rubbish field. Let peak Seles play Wimbledon on today's grass or peak Hingis play RG with today's field.

Tapping the ball right back to Nole when you're both at net, great tactic Fed.
