One debutante through, Cepelova, along with both Pliskova twins - the first time a pair of twins have qualified, or even participated in, a Slam MD?

Lucic won! Of course she qualified here last year, too. Hoping for a cakewalk draw this time.

Petra Yesterday's matches repeating themselves...Sesil again coming from a set down against less-heralded opposition; Misaki again in a tight three-setter against a giant basher...

[Sesil leaves court] PEOPLE: Oh no, she lost! Sad! [pause] PEOPLE: Hey, what's that? Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's...SESI(LL)!!!! Coming to win matches!

SESI(LL) And indeed there is a LL spot available with Krajicek's w/d. It's a random pick from a pot of the four highest ranked these days, right? That's...Doi, SESI(LL), LAV and Feuerstein. What I'm saying is, it had better be one of the first two. Or hopefully both.

Yes, she's got a 99% chance now because she's SESI(LL) and she always wins this shit. She dopes up the chips in the hat or whatever.

She gets the chips pregnant, I think you mean.

I'll content myself with a woohoo for Beck, the twins and the Hair, and a for Coco and Lucic (there you go Janie!).

Cepelova is one of those rare beasts which I don't think I'd heard of until she barnstormed into a Slam.

So thanks to Vesna Dolonc (SRB), Srbija will have 4 players in MD Some 12 years ago we had none.

It's a common error. BAG's subforum at WTAW used to be called "Beauty and her Beasts". Guess how I kept reading it for months.

What exactly is it about Dolonc that everyone likes, anyway? She seems to be such big favorite here. I'm indifferent toward her, at best. Manasieva, Dolonts or Dolonc; hair or no hair; RUS or SRB, she's just another generic journeywoman-type to me. What am I missing?

Oh, man. In this picture, her facial expression and her stance remind me of Kobe Bryant!

She used to have Wild Hair? I think that's why everyone loves her?

It's basically these two pictures: Plus, the constant name changes are a touch eccentric. I've never actually seen her play!

Ha! Well, those are excellent reasons to like a player, for sure. Our first FOHO, favorite on hair only.

I think I watched her play Venus 1R at USO last year? But I can't remember anything.
