Pironkova was never going to beat Masha. I'm disappointed in Masha serving like shit. She's the only hope left in this rubbish top half - or anyone really if we can get rid of Radwanska. Peng?
Why did Bepa retire? Her reaching the 3R is an achievement in itself.
Also can we please fucking get rid of Azarenka?

I'm afraid to look at Twitter or TF. I just know I will have to read that St. Kim angellically comforted and soothed the weeping Bepa, carried her off the court on her shoulders, and then personally inserted the iv/applied the cast/or fixed whatever the heck it was that caused Bepa to retire, which I still do not know.

Benneteau wins the first set over Fed Okay, I JUST noticed that. I finally have to start watching some Wimbledon tennis now! The last match I put on, I saw about 5 points before the rain started, and the match ended up resuming the following day, so I hope for better luck this time.

I haven't been on TF in forever, but I feel like twitter is over the whole St.Kim is so nice thing. She pissed people off with her retirement tour. New Sts are Woz (Sunshine!!) and probably Sharapova. And Sharapova is not in the way that she's so-so nice, but in a way that no matter what she does or says is hugely admired. And Woz is trying to take over the whole 'I'm always injured before the slam' thing. It's just the impression I got during the last months from twitter/a little bit of TF.

Well, this is a real upset bid. Benneteau played really well at times in that set and Roger's racket is leaking unforced errors right and left. He hasn't been able to string together points.
Benneteau is serving quite well which tells me he can do this. He's also getting the ball to Roger's backhand very effectively.

Leena is right, St Kim is still the patron saint of niceness in the media. But TF fans have long gone off her and see her for the ludicrous phony she is. The Sunshine nickname has always been a little ironic re: Woz because it's mostly used to mock her for what a try-hard she is. Maria is definitely the one right now where it feels everyone - fans, even the snarkiest, and media - insist that you have to recognise her for the beauteous fighting splendour of her game It'll get even worse if Serena retires before her.
