If only Rebecca had married into your family. I guess there's still time/opportunity. I'm holding out hope for one of the cousins. Did you meet Matthew? He did not come to the tennis. He lost like a zillion pounds!! He is looking for love too.

I can post draws and stuff if you'd like That would be fantastic. I always look here first for draws. I really miss Brinyi posting entry lists and draws like clockwork. I can keep doing some, too. Entry lists are harder these days. I don't know where to get them besides those awful boards. And we should perk up by the time AO starts. This happens every year, not quite to this degree though

That's just about as much effort as I can expend in life. I think if you start posting here more, that will help the board survive more than advertising will. Surely we are collectively less annoying an audience than your Twitter peops!

I have been! But Twitter is probably less annoying because I don't have to read anyone there who I don't want to. Although I can't think of anyone posting here these days I don't care to read.

Did you get rid of some of the oppressive Hackie stuff? I won't miss that. "NO POSTING COMMENTS in this area. This is a very regulated board, not like OTHERS. Draws go here, comments go there, Kim-love goes over there. Kim hate will not be a thing on this board. Sign on the dotted line and submit in triplicate." :scary:

If you mean the crazy FAQ threads, I un-stickied them and merged them into the Questions and Concerns, allowing them to promptly fall to the bottom.
Actually I read some of the archives earlier while I was cleaning. I was trying to pinpoint when the big change occurred, and why. It was post-USO 2005. When 2006 started, it was a completely different crew posting in tournament threads.

I checked Hackie's board today. Looks like it's been dead for three years and like all of the visible posts are Hackie's. Also, you're doing a bang-up job Hurls.

Why did I only just discover this fun thread? - I have also only met Rebecca from the crowd here, in real life. - I started posting (regularly anyway!) post-USO 2005 as well. Little did I know I was part of a major change!

Hackie and a few others ended up here due to issues at MTF, if I'm not mistaken. At some point I made Hackie an admin because she was happy to like, do stuff, which I was not so much. I don't remember what specifically caused them leaving, but I think it had something to do with my refusing to allow the bannings of Grarina and Lina, who both picked on her mercilessly. So, they went ahead and made another board without telling me and posted there for a short while before "kindly" inviting me to join. I think I posted twice.
Never been a fan of thin skin.
I can understand why she didn't want to continue posting here, though. Grarina and Lina were hilariously awful to her.

Yeah while cleaning up Q&C I did notice their 900 threads about how she should be removed as an Admin and how she should be banned and how she sucks etc.

I hope you left those threads extant, Hurley. They should go in the time capsule.

I wasn't awful to Hackie until she was deleting my posts regularly, and she made catty posts to her dopey friends about it after I dare PMd her asking why she deleted my posts and never replied to anything I said. I later found out it was simply "Be nice to St. Kim and Nieminen and whoever her crappy faves were!!".
Then I found out she was fat, and noticed that got under her skin, so fun was had. So, I wasn't serious, but she needed the boot. And if she wasn't gone soon, I would have stopped coming here for good eventually. You're so lucky!
The work she did constantly updating draws and results were nice, but the tennis forums were awful during her reign with her handful of buddies that only posted like this was an extension of the brain-numbing cheering threads at MTF/MinorityWorld. We may be extremely negative old hags, but we're still better than that shit.

I mean if you look at the tournament threads before she left, nothing went on. Sure, they made tens of thousands of posts in their chat threads a day, but seriously...
And the two groups COULD have co-existed. I told her that a million times. It's their hypersensitivity that caused them to leave, not the actions of 3 (let's include Ballbuster) snarky posters.

Ballbuster! What happened to him?
Anyway, between Leelee and Grargrar asking me to get rid of Tennishack, and Tennishack insisting I get rid of both of them, this board prepared me nicely for management. Which is to say, the most important rule of management is to not give a shit about anything ever.
This is why I was awarded an honorary MBA from nowhere.

I'm supposed to "manage" a handful of tiny children of my new project, even though I said I have no desire to be management, nor do they pay me enough to do so. It's awful. They have problems, I am crazy, and the problems get worse. I'm going to start drinking more.
