Gutted for Aga You could see her disappointment - yes, the handshake was cold and I LOL'd but she just lost a GS SF 9-7 in the third, ffs.

Can I get a Fuck YEAH?!!!
I left work at 3-0 in the 3rd, to come home to this result is marvelous!! And so-so impressive vs Aga, who as you rightly said, doesn't give you any unforced errors.
C'mon Sabine!!! Plz win the final, this run is so special!

Sabine won? Awww! So happy for her! I lost patience and left the tv and caught up with some work outdoors. I'm such a weakling of a tennis fan any more. So I missed her Moment.

It was such a great, hard-fought match, and that's why it was so disappointing for me to see such a non-handshake in the end. But I don't like Haga anyway so there. I doubt Lisicki cares and why should she.
Let's hope for a good final!

Final will be entirely about Lisicki's head, which has held up so far. Lisicki leads the H2H with Bartoli 3-1, they're 1-1 at Wimbledon and Lisicki has won the last three. I think it's a horrendous match-up for Bartoli unless Lisicki has a meltdown and stays melted down.

I probably like Aga least of everyone on this board and was reacting more to the Twitter and TF comments than what you'd posted. Hoping for a good final too!

Just checked the h2h and it's 3-1 for Lisicki but split evenly at Wimbledon. CAKE won in 2008 easily and Lisicki took 3 sets to win in 2011. I really hope we'll see super-returning-CAKE against super-serving-Bine. Probably won't have many rallies though.
edit: what Alex said.

I think Eurosport would have never recovered if Aga won the only slam they're not covering.

I feel Aga's pain, but she's not defending as well as she was last year. And now she'll never win a slam. Oh well.
Matchup should favor Sabine in the final, but I don't like the chances of her holding up. I'm expecting a blowout either way.

There are a lot of parallels between Wickmayer and Stephens, actually (apart from the hype). She was pretty young at the time of her SF but I don't think anyone thought Wickmayer would be good (as in, Slam champion) afterwards, she just got a lucky draw. Because you could SEE her game was not elite level, just as Stephens' isn't. And friendly seeding meant she got a few more Slam second weeks off the back of it. People thought she'd be a solid 10-30 player, which she was until slumping this year. Yanina had bad luck with slam draws after USO. The one 4R at AO, she wasn't seeded with the drug nonsense. Then she ran into good seeds in the 3R a few times. She didn't really get anything out of her ranking. And then she immediately fell to the 25-40 range after USO fell off. Yanina's a C-level power hitter, did she ever beat a top 5 player? It will be interesting to see how Sloane accepts reality, because she is not a top 10 player now. The expectations will be sky high for years from the uneducated for various reasons, and a lot of them already hate her.

Ben Rothenberg @benrothenberg 4m "Should I just be there and dance? What could I do?" -A teary Agnieszka Radwanska on leaving the court quickly after her loss. #Wimbledon Just shaking her hand while actually looking at her would be enough, I think. The usual. I mean I'm not gonna hate on Aga for that pathetic handshake, but could she not exaggerate?

May Ms. Sulky Face remain slamless like her Sunshine Face sidekick.
The final is terrible of course, but with that sf line-up we got the best that was there.

Addressing some comments on Twitter I saw earlier: I didn't think Taylor Townsend looked that bad out there. Sure she could stand to lose a fair amount of weight, and yes she's got a tummy on her, but her legs and upper body look strong, not flabby. Her build reminds me of pre-superfit Capriati, who was also surprisingly quick around the court. TT can go 3 sets and come back and win the next day, so she's not outrageously unfit. I just hope she'll keep working steadily on her fitness and her game and not get discouraged by internet critics. If she can, she's going to be fun to watch some day. Her favorite player is Old Hag, so that's a good sign.

So Radwanska lost from 3-0 up in the third? Just like Serena?

But...it isn't. LOL.

Well, I can't believe Lisicki-Bartoli is the Wimbledon final, but here we are.
I think ... it would be a shame for the girl who has beaten Serena here to lose. But I don't think I will be displeased with either winner.
It's been so long since I gave a shit about WTA rankings ... how many points for a Slam quarter? 500? If Lisicki titles, where will she be ranked? 11-ish?

Ha, no, of course it's fat; no muscles look like that. But I don't agree that it has "increased dramatically"; I think it's pretty much the same as always. But if you can prove it with photos I'll concede.
Grar: Yes, Aga led 3-0 in the 3rd.

Someone asked me how I could cheer for a porker like Bartoli and be happy that a fluke like Lisicki won because Aga losing means there will be no credible winner. I had trouble comprehending this point of view because
1. The WTA has been lacking credible winners and watching fat women win Slams for ages now so this would not be an anomaly. 2. Women's tennis has become a joke for a number of years now so the whole "it's not good for the game" bit amuses me. 3. Watching Serena dismantle Aga while Maria and Vika hit 3498320 unforced errors in an ugly, shrieking three-set match only to lose the final 6-0, 6-0 is a terrible advertisement of the women's game and has been the case for the last 12 months.

Aga wouldn't have been a credible winner either.
Honestly, this final is better than Shriek and Scream.

Every time I think Lisicki (who will win) can't be a Slam winner because it's just too weird...I think back to Lo Schiavo. So anything is fair game at this point, I suppose.

You just know Lisicki will deal with Slam champion pressure worse than BAG (and she'll get the pressure because she's pretty). Ha, no, of course it's fat; no muscles look like that. But I don't agree that it has "increased dramatically"; I think it's pretty much the same as always. But if you can prove it with photos I'll concede. I can't prove it with pictures, but all I know is that the BBC showed Townsend playing very briefly, and I was aware of her size before, and I still did a double take and how much worse her fitness seemed. Maybe it was an unflattering dress.

I've just seen that video of RAD vs Lisicki handshake, lol. She turned around when shaking hands. Why even bother with a handshake if you're gonna do that.

Maybe it was an unflattering dress. Taylor has a long way to go, and has stagnated this year. But, she was legitimately fat a couple years ago.
