According to my commentators, Federer should feel good about his best performance of the year still being a losing effort against Nadal.

He should feel better than he felt after the way he lost to him earlier in the year.
Fed has to be the worst at challenges, though. Rafa's matchpoint-up forehand was out.

Oh no! Time to shut down the contest. Whatever will we do?

Post-Wim slump was inevitable I guess, it was a very underwhelming performance by Murray.
Hang your head in shame, Nole. Two losses to Isner in Masters events?
Shocked Roger took a set off Rafa!

He had a look at the second set, too. 3-3 0-30 on Rafa's serve, 4-4 30-30. Couldn't break through. I do wonder sometimes whether the tactic of being ultra-aggressive off the backhand return is the best. Sometimes he could just slice it back without Rafa killing it, right?

Isner, Isner, Isner! I'm so tired of him already!

Rafa won! And he played really great again! I thought Thomas played well as well, I always want him to play like this vs Djokovic and he never does.

Yes, Tomas did play well. But Rafa is too strong these days. Now he has to save tennis for the second week in a row.
I would love it if this form holds up, no one would be able to beat him in NY.

Yeah, but I am afraid of the potential slump right when it matters the most. Still every win adds to the confidence, so that's good.

Rafa's forehand down the line is insanely good right now. That's the difference-making shot.

Rafa will win Isner tomorrow. It will be very exciting.

Ughhhhhh Isner. I hate Cincy.

But it's just Cincy. Let Isner rock the tennis world here in Ohio, and then fade away in NY. Obviously I'm rooting for Rafa in the final, but I want him to win the USO this year, don't care if he hags a Cincy title or not.

YES!!! 2 tie-breaks, both to Rafa! Didn't play as well today, but it's understandable, Isner gives you no rhythm. That's some celebration from Rafa, I guess it meant a lot. And all this without Uncle Toni (at least I don't think I've seen him here)

Well done, Rafa! Thank you for stopping the I-train. This summer has been such a fun surprise from Rafa. Just when you think a guy is mortally wounded he rises and wins all the prizes.

That was boring. I'm grateful that Rafa did not need a third tie break set to win it. Good week for Isner. Aside from his game, he's very inoffensive. I wish his matches didn't bore me so.

But it's just Cincy. Let Isner rock the tennis world here in Ohio, and then fade away in NY. Let Isner rock no tennis worlds anywhere. I want a first week USO exit for Rafa but I am fully supportive of his win today, Isner really cannot be allowed anywhere near a Masters title.

No first week USO exit for Rafa. He will instead will all of the things and then Bartoli.

Also, Isner will probably eventually win a masters title. I think we should just accept this.

We've avoided it so far. No acceptance!

Also, Isner will probably eventually win a masters title. I think we should just accept this. Oh, I don't think so. He's not good. This is about the best he can play and he still couldn't squeak it out in two of his beloved tiebreaks.

Holy shit, Isner is 28? Scratch what I said about him winning a Masters then. I thought he was 23 and had ages to improve. He's OLD.

I honestly might have just confused Isner with Raonic.

I also did not realize how old Isner was, but when I stop and think about it his age makes sense. He started making noise about five or six years ago I think? And he had a college career before having big pro results. So yeah, it adds up.
Unrelated, but where's Ginepri? He must be old now.

Isner won't win a MS. His 3 finals have been BS. The odds of him beating 3-4 players that are really good are very low. Meanwhile, Delpo's performance against him was terrible. He suddenly stopped caring and tanked during the 2nd set WTF
