Decided to check out this Glushko. Wow, is she bossing Dani around! Let's see if she starts to get tight.

Unsurprised that Hantuchova is blowing her open draw. Glushko isn't a bad player. BAG avoiding the upset contributes to this terrible day

Glushko gets broken when serving for the match, as per playbook. So this one isn't sure yet ...

Unsurprised that Hantuchova is blowing her open draw. Glushko isn't a bad player. Really it's only this summer that she started to emerge, right? So this confident USO run has been a surprise to me. I'd like to see her close this out, but we'll see. They're saying that sth's wrong w/ Hantu's shoulder

And Hantu's stepping up now, playing much better, not going to be easy for JG if she keeps this up.

Four straight games for Dani now -- it's like seeing JG choke woke her up from her lethargy. She's on fire, in her own Skinny Dani way.

Wow, 7-5 to Dani. Not unexpected in a veteran vs Hidden Worlder USO match; after all, this is the very scenario spelled out in the SEWTA playbook. But the way Dani suddenly turned it on was fun to watch. What happened to all those errors? I'll be surprised if JG can turn it back on in the 3rd, knowing how she blew it several games back.

I hope not! Anyway, at least AI avoided today's upset fad. I know she's widely hated, but I'm glad for her, and fed up with upsets. Please no Cornet in r4! She's awful. I can't sit through one complete match that she's playing in. McHale's game isn't going to be winning a big prize, but watching her is better than watching a player start convulsing after every other point.

Hantuchova should have lost that. I was hoping for it, for hilarity purposes. But no - today has been funny enough, apparently.
Isner down a set. Big woot.

Maybe the reason I don't mind Ana is because I so rarely actually watch her play! Isner refused to stay down for long, I see. Boo! I confess that Raonic's progress through the draw has gone unnoticed by me. Hard to imagine I could feel more neutral about a player than I do about him.

According go the commentators, Nadal is actively cheering for Not Isner (who they rarely name, because who cares about the Not Isner Guy), so greatly does he fear him. This is silly, but they keep saying it. This is on par with the total homerism fed to us by the guys who commentated Raonic's match.

Why do people from the South refer to it as "Godscountry"? Are they mentally disabled, or is this a real thing that smart people do too?

That was the worst tweet ever. Yeah, it was dumb. He was probably just homesick. I did enjoy all the reading-way-too-much-into-it that they did with that tweet over on MTF, though. My favorite post was one of the many about how he's all about bringing back slavery. Things got out of hand very quickly after Isner's tweet.

Glushko hits hard though. She's good. Obviously being a choker is holding her back.

And I don't care if Kirilenko lost that match 1 and 0 because she came down with Ebola, that result is fucking HILARIOUS.
As for Shitra...go away. Happy for Riske, though, and if she continues to resist her scary Marino-esque tendencies towards low self-confidence, she will beat Hantu. Crying during your post-match interview, though, does not support anyone's hope that she's currently stable.

Kirilenko sick? I read that Petra was sick, never heard about MK. But then I haven't been online the past couple of hours so where could I have heard. But I like MK so I feel bad for her either way. Was amazed to come back to the DH match after leaving it at 3-1 in the 3rd, to find out that the despondent JG had somehow managed to claw her way back into it. Even though she lost, and in fact even though she choked, this USO has been a fabulous one for her and I hope she can build on it. Not everyone chokes forever and ever, after all.

Poor Isner, and his completely charisma-less attempts to get the audience even more into it.

Ha, the umpire got out of his chair to go tell Isner's friends to not be such tools. I hadn't even noticed they were being tools, but there you go.

The umpire got out of his chair and went over to speak to people in the stands? That's something I've never seen before.

Yes, that happened. I wish that ump was had a mic on so that we could have heard him say "hey, tools. Be lesser tools" ... or whatever it is he said. Anyway, ugh. Isner broke. Or, as I prefer to see it, Kohlschreiber broke himself.

Why do people from the South refer to it as "Godscountry"? Are they mentally disabled, or is this a real thing that smart people do too? The county next to my BCTT county here in northern Pa. has "God's Country" as its official slogan: www.visitpottercounty.com/
