What is a GoogleBot? One of them is a guest at the moment

Googlebots crawl the web to cache the website. There have been questions about them in support but I haven't read the threads, as my first priority was to get our board back to rights.
Everything should be fixed; please let me know if not.

Googlebots crawl the web to cache the website. Spooky. Big Brother is watching

The squeaky wheel gets the grease ;D I forgot that I had bumped up my month-old thread about this. At least this time somebody paid attention.
If the googlebots bother you we can prolly get rid of them.

My ordinary smileys, the simple ones shown right above the message typing box, are no longer working at all. So I can only use the ones I remember the symbols for, which is only about 5 of them.

What browser do you use, Janie?
|
|
|
Post by janie on Jul 19, 2005 7:24:57 GMT -5
I use Macintosh's Safari browser. Is that the problem? But why were the smileys working for me before? Even though I did have the problem (as I posted here at the time) that posting one of those simple smileys would cause my whole post to repeat itself after the smiley, so i continually had to delete everything after the smiley. That problem occurred after the update; now it has evolved into this problem where they don't work at all.

Janie, they have reworked things constantly since the update. They probably did something to the code, which is why it won't work for you anymore.

On my screen, the font size on the board has suddenly become twice its former size - I don't think it's a problem with my computer, has anything different happened to the board?

Mine is okay -- is this happening on other web pages?

If so, in Explorer click on View - Text size - Medium
Otherwise I have no other ideas.

OK, I just did as Brinyi suggested and reduced it to medium on the Text Size menu... I never put it on large in the first place, though. And it's only on this site, MTF and other places are normal. Odd. Anyhow, thanks for the advice.
