This tournament needs to be De-Justined! You need to be de-Justined! Of course his signature bothers you. The first part of it mercilessly denigrates yours. Mine rules! I actually hate the second part of it! I had to look at it again to find out what the first part was ... didn't really register ever. Justine blows! COME ON KIMMY LOSE CONTROL.

Yeah, the second part is what perplexes me too, of course.
This match blows.

Short points, too many errors, dead crowd. The crowd is burned out after haggard Sveta wrecked all by winning. Roar. A break for Justine.

I've noticed today and in the Hingis match that Kim doesn't really run for every ball anymore, she doesn't respond after big points, she doesn't seem to care. She's starting to look like Davenport. Maybe that will change if this match gets close, but right now...

The Paw Paw negro Blow torch was a black man who lived in the time when negro was the common word for black man, and he had the ability to set things on fire.
Those are lyrics from a Brian Eno song, when he was glam and gay, in england, in the 70´s negro was still the common word for balck man, thats why he didnt change the lyrics for something less racist sounding.

Justine, keep your finger down. You're not Vaidisova, let the linespeople make the calls.
OH. And you were WRONG, too. Blech.

Maybe that will change if this match gets close, but right now... That may well have some accuracy to it. But I'd like to ask this question. Do you think she thinks she can win this match with Justine here? Maybe she's lackadaisical because she doesn't think she can do it.

But, no, she knew she could beat Hingis and she was still acting that way. I think she wants to win and knows she can, but won't be overly disappointed if she loses. Which is...fine? Healthy? But it's not going to win her another major, methinks.

I think she'll have a pretty decent shot in New York. She had one in Australia before snapping her ankle again. She's still proclaiming her imminent retirement, so I guess it's a fair assumption to conclude her heart may not be in it right now.

>In the NEW YORK SUN, Dec. 1, 1882, is an account of the occult powers of A.W. >Underwood, a Negro, aged 24, of Paw Paw Michigan. The account, copied from the >MICHIGAN MEDICAL NEWS, was written by Dr. L. C. Woodman, of Paw Paw. It was >Dr. Woodman's statement that he was convinced that Underwood's phenomena were >genuine. "He will take anybody's handkerchief, and hold it to his mouth, rub >it vigorously, while breathing on it, and immediately it bursts into flames, >and burns until consumed. He will strip, and will rinse out his mouth >thoroughly, and submit to the most rigorous examination to preclude the >possibility of any humbug, and then by his breath, blown upon any paper, or >cloth, envelop it in flames. He will, while out gunning, lie down, after >collecting dry leaves, and by breathing on them start a fire."
