5-6. Nadal still 93.7% to win.

I hope that Federer had a heatstroke or something, it's the only acceptable explanation.
He had NO gameplan. I had mentioned quite a few things in a thread on MTF on what to do against Nadal. He did NONE of these.
He has NO clue what to do with his backhand. High balls on the backhand = END.
His serve was awful. No serve and volley.
Returns - forget it. He awaits the serves three metres behind the baseline = defensive from the start. That's why he didn't break once in the last three sets except that one fluke break at 5-4 in the 4th.
Credit to Nadal for playing well on some crucial points. Apart from that, he played a solid match, and that was more than enough. I would have liked to see him being pushed harder but oh well.

SO I guess we're going to have to wait until his leg snaps in half on court before Rafa loses on clay again. How enthralling. Somewhere, Chris Evert's record is starting to whimper. /sarcasm

Disappointing match.
Like Godom said, Roger plays so stupid against Rafa.
We're mishitting like 100 flat backhands, none of which are a weapon anyway... why not even try slices and junk vs. Rafa? Why is he standing far behind the baseline on Rafa's average serve?
It's frustrating, because I still think Roger is good enough to beat Rafa on clay. If Roger plays with his usual variety, and isn't afraid to put some balls in the middle of the court with all different spins... Rafa will eventually give you short stuff, and then you bomb away. And Roger's serve was nothing... as was shown in this tournament, attack Rafa's backhand on the return.
He needs to play his usual game, but Rafa is so in his head, which has been very obvious since Dubai where Roger was crushing Rafa, and then he freaked.

Yes.
But considering that this won't change probably, I see no reason why Rafa shouldn't win here afew more times in the next years.
I mean, he hasn't even played 5 sets here so far, right?

Why did they boo Nadal during his speech?
Pathetic match from Fed, but I wanted Nadal to win, so it's all fine.

I didn't hear what the French guy said. But French people never miss an occasion to boo.

Don't worry, guys. Fed totally has Rafa figured out and will win the next 8 matches. Especially if they're on clay.

Sorry for my earlier posts BTW, but I had to give vent to my innermost feelings hate. Keep some energy for Kiwi. Kiefer is boring in grass season. He might reach the final in Halle, since it's such a crappy tournament. He might not, then I'm happy. He will withdraw injured in the following week. At Wimby, he will get a Q/LL in the first round and struggle terribly, but win in 5. Two more easy opponents in the following rounds, then loss against Federer in the 4th round.

Roger will never beat Rafael again. Ever I'm not has disappointed as I was in Rome, but that was bad. It was a poor match, Rafael didn't play that well really, Roger played with no belief, he only got to the TB through that choke. Anyway, Rafael will go away now and hopefully someone will beat Roger at Wimby. I can't face another Sampras like domination. If these 2 start dominating at the US, then Mens tennis is in seriously trouble.

If these 2 start dominating at the US, then Mens tennis is in seriously trouble. I was going to say: Right, because rivalries are always really bad for tennis! But then I remembered: 6-1. But somehow, some people still believe Fed is the favourite in every match, so perhaps we can still call it that. Rafael will go away for four weeks at most - enjoy it while it lasts.
