chloe explanation please? it's ok for Leena to call venus penis but I can't make watermelon references? wtf watermelon jokes are always good bull you bitch. We can call Venus "Penis" because it's not a racist joke; it's solely based on her sucking, whether she is white or black. Your watermelon comments are only based on her being black, which makes them racist jokes, which are not permitted by proboards and could get us shut down. If you want to make racist jokes you can a) make them here but expect to see them deleted or b) do them elsewhere and post here when you have more interesting and mature things to say.

No, he DIDN'T play extremely well. He got hot with his serve and that's good enough on grass if you are one of the handful of players with a big enough serve to make grass work for you. If he had played just as 'well' at the US Open that year, he would have never made it out of the third round. Basically, these days grass rewards a really shitty style of play (see Rafter v. Sampras) at the expense of more talented players. We're a long way from the artful 80s of Borg-McEnroe-Connors matches. Federer is a throwback in that regard, but isn't really enough to make up for watching Sampras pound out seven titles. Absolute BS. I'm pretty sure you didn't see a single match of his run. Yes, his serve was hot but he played well from the baseline as well, else he wouldn't have beaten the likes of Roddick, Henman and Rafter WITHOUT winning 3 TB's. And, you live in the past a bit. Show me ONE player who plays like Sampras/Rafter 'these days'. Not to mention that calling these players' styles "shitty" is quite ridiculous. You should post more in Blast from the Past at WTAWorld, I'm sure you would like those old grumpy asses with a faible for wooden rackets. What's absolutely unartful these days are the baseline bashers who don't even try to adjust their game for grass , and often enough get away with it. I tried to watch his matches, but elected to watch paint dry instead. I don't regret it.

I call her Penis because she seriously looks like a man. I don't know if that's racist or sexist, or whatever, but I don't care. Go back to the Venus of 2000-2002ish, and I'd tolerate her more. She has a lot to do to make up for all of 2005.

The grass thing is bullshit. They can start play at 10am with no problems. Starting at 1pm is just ridiculous.
I don't care about queueing. It's a tennis tournament. Everyone wants to see good tennis. Wimbledon prohibits that. Fuck them.

What's stupid about Slams:
Australian Open: nothing. French Open: people attending. Wimbledon: no play on Sunday, the surface, the ticket selling system, the Henmania, people attending because it's cool to attend Wimbledon, rain, starting play so late, no equal price money, having to hear it's the most prestigious Slam when it's not, Sampras domination over the year, WTA players can't play on grass, ATP matches are boring. US Open: Ashe stadium, no rest day between 1/2F and F.

It's incredible that some people here seriously discuss the possibility of Wimby being replaced by an indoor slam. Get it together!!!! Really. Equal pay - so what. The tiny difference is ridiculous but it's no big deal at all, since the women are already filthy rich. Middle Sunday, so what. Get used to it. Wimby isn't anachronistic at all. The changes they made to the venue in the last 12 years have been formidable. Everything's up to date now but they kept the classic look. Compare it the monstrosity that is the AA Stadium and you will know what I mean. They get a roof now on Centre. And they have covers. US Open has towels. Yup, that's 21th century. They should get a new Court No.2 though and make some more changes to the outer courts, but I think they will. And Goran's win was perfectly fine. He DID play extremely well for whatever reason during these two weeks - and after losing to Cristiano Caratti in Queen's, so it was not just the grass. It's sad that so few players have a clue how to play on grass nowadays. That's not Wimby's fault though. ;D At least at Wimby's centre court, it only gets affected by rain. Remember last year at Ashe when the hurricane destroyed all the 2nd Round matches at Ashe cos the wind was allowed to completely blow. 2003 US Open's was probably the most embarrasing slam of the millenium. According to what I've heard last year, they are buliding a new court 2 along with the roof. Goran's wimby was wonderful. And it could happen on clay to a clay courter and on hard to a hard courter. I don't care much about equal pay, because they're all getting more than they deserve. If Wimbledon just ran their tournament like every other one, I wouldn't care. No play on 2nd Sunday? Not starting until 1pm when there's already many rain delay issues? That's junk that only lessens the quality of play. I agree that that late start is absurd. Remember when they made that momentous decision a few years back to start the show court matches at 1 instead of 2, like on all the other courts? <gasp> As for playing on the middle Sunday, if they're caught up, what's the problem? If they're running behind, though, they should open the gates and play that day. Like I've said. All outer courts start at 12, not 1. As for playing on the middle Sunday, if they're caught up, what's the problem? If they're running behind, though, they should open the gates and play that day. Because Wimbledon can easily get un-caught up in the second week, which means they need to MOVE those matches! And because it's a wasted day and that's stupid. And the revenue from that day alone can fund the LTA's search for a good female player and then we won't have to hear Nav bitch about it every year anymore. Like I've said again, the grass isn't used and doesn't like 14 days of constant play. And the LTA wouldn't use funds for a new WTA player. They'd waste it all of something else that would fail. The grass thing is bullshit. They can start play at 10am with no problems. Starting at 1pm is just ridiculous. I don't care about queueing. It's a tennis tournament. Everyone wants to see good tennis. Wimbledon prohibits that. Fuck them. If you started at 10PM, not only would they be doing something that no other slam does which is start so early, but also risk many injuries. What's stupid about Slams: Australian Open: nothing. Australian Open: The slam no one cares about. French Open: The crowd, the quality which gets worse every year, the horrible 5 hour matches which drag on cos players refuse to win. Wimbledon: The only one is ATP domination. All of your facts are wrong. US Open: Ashe, the unwillingness to do anything if rain occurs, the lack of people at stands.

The only negative with the Aussie Open is the time. It's perfectly set up so neither Europe nor Americas can watch much of it at a convenient time. But, doesn't Australia get the best amount of crowds by far? It's a lovely slam.
Ashe is a dump, and so was Armstrong back in the day. I only went in them once, though. Grounds passes are great.
