Ajde, all-Srbija final.
I still haven't got used to Shriek playing at a consistently high level again, which is why I give Jelena any chance at all.

I'm rooting for Maria Sharapova and Daniela Hantuchova to win their Australian Open semifinal matches. But I think Jelena Jankovic will be a tough opponent for Sharapova and defeat Sharapova in 3 sets 6-4 3-6 6-4. Maria has had it too easy so far in Oz and she will have a hard time dealing with Jelena's great defense, counter punching ability and the oppresive Australian daytime heat. In the the other semifinal I think Ana Ivanovic will outhit Daniela Hantuchova and win 6-4 6-3.

Well, I guess the all-Serbian final would be a bit too much to ask for, especially considering I didn't expect either of them to be in the semis in the first place. But, it would be so nice.
I just can't see how Jelena is going to beat Masha. I know I said the same before the QF, but really, it's already a miracle she's got so far. Ana should beat Hantu.

I'm never fully convinced with Maria, because we see her go through her highs and her lows all the time. Highs do have to end, and sometimes mid-tournament. If she does put on another performance like the QF, then just tooooo good. Ajde Serbs!!! I want Ana to win the first GS for Serbia. And Novak to follow the next day.

These are 2 interesting women's semifinals in Oz tennis wise and media wise. As far as the tennis goes you have the power player in Sharapova against the defensive wiz Jankovic. And you have the healthy power player Ivanovic against the slender power player Hantuchova. And as far as the media goes you have the glamorous one (Sharapova) versus the sexy one (Jankovic) and the beaufitul one (Ivanovic) versus the stylish one (Hantuchova). I hope the quality of the women's semifinals is excellent so their matches will be memorable. If the weather is good and not too hot I think they will play at a high level.

Jankovic is a bad matchup for Maria, but the match can go either way (then again, I said this of Davenport vs Maria).
Just like last year, I hope that Maria loses in the semis, because she won't do a thing against Ivanovic in the final - I mean, how many of Ivanovic's FHs will she chase? The Ivanovic vs Venus match was a complete horror show, and I can't bring myself to even stand, let alone enjoy, Ivanovic's "game", but what a HUGE game it is. The way Maria played at the QF was suited to beat Henin, but most certainly not Ivanovic. Jankovic will at least may make it a match before choking.

the cat won't need porn to get the job done tonight.
Maria will hit a couple BHs until Ana finally misses hitting the same spot.
It's a bad matchup. Ana can't overpower Maria.

You might be right about Ana being too much for Maria if they play in the final. But Maria did rout Ana in the semifinals of the WTA Tour Chanpionships last November.

I hate porn and everything associated with it. I spoke of the semifinalists attractiveness from an artistic point of few and how the media might view them. But I hope you're right about Maria's backhand causing problems for Ana if they play in the final.

There's absolutely no way she's even going to come close unless Maria starts sucking colossally. I'm off to bed.

Maria is playing incredibly well. This is the most dominant slam performance we've seen in a while.
This is frightening. We need her to start getting injured again like now.

Sharapova won the first set 6-3 after being up 5-0. It will be interesting to see if Maria has a letdown in the second set after her play slipped a bit late in the first set. Her serve seems to be faltering some tonight.
And the roof in Rod Laver Arena is closed essentially making this an indoor match for Sharapova and Jankovic.

Sharapova defeated Jankovic 6-3 6-1 in a rather mundane match. And it was bizarre to see Jelena challenge calls that were well out. I think Ivanovic will beat Hantuchova 6-3 6-4 but hope I'm wrong as I would prefer Maria play Hantuchova in the final instead of Ivanovic who could over power Maria with her bigger, bigger forehand and more power overall. Sharapova's second serve was a little off tonight and Ivanovic will look to punish it if she makes the final.

Anyone who still insists that Ivanovic is the "real #2" is fucking insane. She's horrible at crunch time, unlike Sharapova, the real "real #2."
