6-1 6-4 for Lindsay.
Looks like she was taking something off the serve on purpose.

Now it's ED who's down a break in the 2nd. Well done, Linds. Got through without too much strain on that weary arm.

Wow, ALG did go out! 2-6 6-0 6-4 to Rezai! Craybas d. Benesova 2 and 0. Poor Molik. Steph. Good that she qualified, though. Bremond is a good player. Muller!

Stosur bounced, 6-2 7-6 (5). I thought Saffy was gonna lose the handle on that one; she lead the breaker 4-1 but surrendered the next four points and Sam was serving for more. The Bych has beaten Skavron in two breakers. Flipkens is wasting Chan in the second. It's ovah. Gimelstob is threatening to win a match. God, RETIRE.

Whaddya know! Way to use a wild card: Lauren Albanese (USA) def Olga Savchuk (UKR) 6-7(5) 6-4 6-2 But I hope it doesn't go to her head and make her decide to hire agents and go pro -- remember poor little Jackie Trail?

Four years ago, coach Rick Macci predicted then-12-year-old Lauren Albanese would be doing big things by age 16. He no longer coaches her, but his prediction is coming true. Albanese, a Georgia native who lives in Coral Springs, won the 2006 USTA National Girls 18s Championships in San Jose, Calif., last weekend. The victory earned her a wild card into the main draw at the U.S. Open, which begins Aug. 28.
''I'm really excited about going to the U.S. Open, and I'm going to try not to be intimidated by the atmosphere,'' said Albanese, 16, who last month won her first pro event, a $10,000 tournament in Wichita, Kan.
``I don't want to just experience the moment, I'd like to play well.''
Since leaving Macci, Albanese trained a year at the Evert Tennis Academy in Boca Raton and in January switched to Harold Solomon's Tennis Institute in Fort Lauderdale, where she trains under Solomon and Andy Brandi.
''I really like Harold's ideas, and I'm trying to listen and not be so stubborn about change,'' she said. ``He was a smart player, and he's helping me develop strategy in my game. Everything is finally coming together, but I'm trying not to put pressure on myself.''

It's nice to see Chanda again, she really gave Nicole a run for her money in the first set, but the second is going away quickly now. Nicole always looks so grumpy.
