I guess Virginie showed why she once was an AO junior champion, or something.
But I still don't know what the hell happened, since my TV only allowed me to watch between 5-1 and 5-3 2nd set and she hardly won a point then.

I'm so glad it was Virginie, if someone had to take out Hingis. Ditto. And I know Burley will agree.

Virginie is playing so aggressively! Hingis has to step it up herself, and not wait passively for a choke! Martina needs to play the game that got her to the top. Lots of variety. Never give your opponent any rhythm. Over the past couple months, she's gone back to 2002 Martina. Inane bashing rallies. And when she faces a talented player with power who's hitting well, she gets crushed. I don't know why she plays like this... Trying to serve wouldn't hurt, either. Need serve to be champion. Lindsay now has company in the hate list.

I'm sad for Martina. And a little bit embarrassed for her. Maybe it's time for a new coach and a new voice. I'm hoping for an all Russina final with Maria Sharapova winning it all.

All my faves blow. This must be how Leena feels. Nah. At least your faves play.

And I'd much rather Tina lose this way than a la the Sugiyama choke at Wimbledon, because at least I was able to get over it and do work at work. La Razz, man, she should have been so much better than she has been. Hopefully she can wring a nice couple of years out of this. Kanepi-Razzano for the fourth round. I just may drive up for that. I have Saturday off.

I'm sad for Martina. And a little bit embarrassed for her. Maybe it's time for a new coach and a new voice. Here's the thing. She's still really good, good enough even for the Top 5. And Top 5-10 players have losses like this one, at times. But Tina left when she couldn't win Slams anymore, and she came back to win Slams. Period. I feel like she may give this another year -- she wants that fucking French -- but if she's stuck at 7 in the world, nah, that's not enough. And she's not willing to change anything to get there. Which I kind of admire.

And it's weird what a couple degrees and a full-time job will do for a person; this would have sent me into catatonia for weeks seven years ago. As, you know, it did. I'm so old and normal now.

And Agassi got the limb injury he needed. Shit, this goes on for another two rounds now.

And she's not willing to change anything to get there. Which I kind of admire. Well, if she wants RG that badly, she better pray for a repeat of 2004. She's not winning it with healthy Justine in the draw and there are still plenty of other players very capable of taking her out.

Every second round ladies' match at the USO being played, and I didn't check scores till almost all of them were over. Bizarre. Meanwhile, Marcos. You have the momentum, don't blow it.

Andre really needs to lose this...
If he doesn't, there's no way in hell I can watch any of CBS's 3 days of coverage without wanting to stab stuff.

You just don't stalk players like I ever have. Or, non-players I should say.
This Open has crawled up and died tonight, hasn't it.

I loved stalking! But it stopped being cute at 19. I'm not a psycho like Jolly Roger, who keeps it up in his eighth decade.
Marcos gets one break back. For now.

I still check every entry list at least twice, hoping she's there. Do I need help.
Andre is winning. This Open ends early for me. Let's start up those Bali conversations.

I've been so distracted at work lately that i didn't even remember there was a USO going on today until my walk home around 630pm when i was like... oh. scores! So I win. But just barely!

I haven't been obsessed about the open either. It's not good to be obsessed over multiple sports at the same time, and right now I'll take baseball and the disAstros.
