Go Anoosha Shahgholi in Iran! But maybe he already lost, since we've only seen "selected" scores. Not that I am not grateful for those! I'll take any bits of info anyone chooses to dole out! Is "IRI" Iran, then? I always thought it was just Iroda T's nickname. She lost in her first match this week, speaking of poor Iri.

I was trying to save you some heartbreak, Janie. But since you insist:
Benedikt Dorsch (GER) d. Anoosha Shahgholi (IRI) 6-0 6-2
By the way, Anoosha Shahgholi is a 23yo out of Tehran, and plays Davis Cup for Iran.
I can't help but notice that poor Iroda has two huge.... first round losses the last 2 weeks.

An article about my new fave
Kids put points on the board
Leo Schlink 26nov04
THREE Victorian teenagers have just completed one of the most important steps in their quest to build professional tennis careers.
Andrew Coelho, 17, David Galic, 17, and Patrick Nicholls, 15, have all collected their first ATP rankings points. And Coelho yesterday franked the form with a straight-sets win over vaunted Chris Guccione on the Uncle Toby's Futures circuit in South Australia.
Coelho, Galic and Nicholls are part of the Victorian Institute of Sport program and are coached by former touring professional Michael Robertson.
Tennis Victoria general manager Brian Beers hailed the impressive rise of the trio, saying it was "a good sign to have three players from Victoria with a men's world ranking". "Traditionally, Australian players usually emerge as a group, such as (Lew) Hoad and (Ken) Rosewall, (Rod) Laver and (Roy) Emerson, (John) Newcombe and (Tony) Roche," he said.
"In view of our current climate, it's encouraging to see our young players pushing their cause on the world scene. That's a credit to the coaching and the junior program at the VIS."
Coelho last week reached a Futures semi-final in SA, losing in the semi-finals to Dutch-born Queenslander Robert Smeets.
The effort delivered six precious rankings points.
VIS head coach Robertson said Coelho had continually improved since joining the VIS program.
"Andrew has concentrated on improving steadily and has not become sidetracked by issues which are out of his control," Robertson said.
"He comes to practice on a steady basis and has worked harder, listens better and, consequently, is playing better."
