what agreat idea to play when your at 40 % Tennis: Coria goes to Houston the Magician confirmed that the Masters will play Guillermo Coria confirmed that the Masters de Houston will play, for whom classified itself yesterday after the resignations of David Nalbandian and the American Andre Agassi to dispute the match of Paris by individual injuries. "Tenísticamente I arrive at less from the 60 percent, but I am going to play surely. A party, without doubts, and the three if everything goes bien", Coria said, that it will fly to Houston the 10 of this month. "Soy conscious that I am not for gaining the Masters, but is a pride to be in favor of second consecutive year in Houston after so many difficult weeks that they included the death of my grandfathers and lesión", it explained. Number five of the world, Coria recognizes that although the rehabilitation that directs to the Spanish Angel Ruiz Cotorro marches at full speed, arrives at Houston with some uncertainties: "Necesitaría two or three weeks more than the two than are until the Masters to arrive at punto". "Si did not enter the Masters that way relaxed just a little bit, but now I am going to give duro" to him;, it added, before recovering the prudence. "No I am wanted to worry. I am removing very slowly, but of down him I am sticking very bien", the Magician said, that he ed ***reflx mng himself of if same when analyzing its service: "De all ways never I had a great serve, so it does not worry to me either too much. I will have to run aún" more;. Broken ties already with its last trainer, Gabriel Markus, Coria it will travel without technical manual of Houston. "De all ways already went single, because Gabriel was not going to be able to be in favor of the pregnancy of his mujer", one Argentinean remembered the number, who requested to the press that does not speculate with the name of its new trainer: "Leí which they speak of Larry Stefanski, but the certain thing is that there is nothing no defined with anybody. Receipt supplies, that sí". Coria confessed its surprise by the resignations of Agassi and Nalbandian to play in Paris. "Yo already knew the one of Agassi from last night. It surprised to me so that Stockholm played soon and, near the objective, resigned. The one of David was more foreseeable, because it had to gain the match of Paris, something possible, but very difficult with the two hard weeks that lleva". Its prognosis is the one of a Masters de Houston "muy abierto". "Este Masters is average rare, because the great ones like stopped Federer, Roddick or Moyá have been long time. It is going to be very open. That better I see is to Safin. Hopefully I can gain partido". (DPA)

latest from Mago
El Mago accomplished one if his 2004 goals: Due to the withdraws of David Nalbandian and Andre Agassi from the Master Series of Paris, Guille qualified for the Houston Master Cup, that will begin November 15th.
After the breaking news, Willy wrote:
"Hello everyone, how are you doing?"
"As you can imagine, I am very happy with the fact that I qualified for the Master, and I want to share it with you all, because you were there for me when I needed your support".
"I will not lie to you, I am very proud of what I have accomplished. Especially after all the tough moments that I went through this year, not only in tennis but personally. That is why I want to dedicate this to my Grandfather, who gives me strength from Heaven.
"No doubt, to have qualified for the Master motivates me even more to keep practicing hard. I know the lack of real matches plays against my chances, but my shoulder is responding well and I my desire of winning is still intact".
"I don't want to forget to thank all the people that have been giving me their unconditional support: Carla, my family, Darío, my friends, and those who have helped me to recover from my injury, like Doctors Cotorro and Vilaró. I also want to thank Sebas, my personal trainer, and all the trainers that have treated me since I arrived to Spain".
"Of course, I want to thank you, my fans, for always being there for me. I promise that I will write again before leaving for Houston to tell you how was my week and how I am felling".
"Big hug to all of you. And once again, thank you for your support".

"Hello everyone once again" "I am writing you to tell you that this past Thursday, I played a couple of sets again British Andrew Murray, who won the US Open Junior this year, and I felt great in the tennis court. I felt no pain at all again and even though I would need two more weeks to be a hundred percent with my serve, I am in perfect condition to play the Master Cup in Houston". "It is true that I still don't make my serve movement like before. It is something that you do automatically. When you are serving, you think about where to serve, but no in the mechanic of the service. Dr. Cotorro told me not to worry about it, and added that the only thing I need for not having that feeling is spending more time in the tennis court". "And now that I am talking about my physical condition, I want to make something clear: I will play the Master because there is no risk to hurt my shoulder again". "The other day I saw a poll in the Website of an Argentine newspaper where they asked fans about what they thought my real physical condition was. It kind of bothered me. The only truth is: I am ready to play". "I didn't play the Paris Bercy Master Series because I didn't want to affect my recovery process, that was it. But as I said, I am ok and ready to jump in a tennis court". "Well, I don't have much more to say at the moment. I still don't have any news about who my coach and physical trainer are going to be. I promise to let you know as soon as I hire them". "Oh, may be you would be interested in knowingthat I am testing a new model of racket. Prince developed a technology that adapts very well to my style of play. I will probably use that racket in Houston" "I guess I will write again right before travelling to USA, but if I don't, I will do it from Houston" "Farewell, folks!" Guille

Dina, there are some pictures of Rafa and Tommy in doubles in the DC semi in the Robredo forum in the "Alicante" thread. Most of the pictures are of Robredo, but there are quite a few of the team and blah. This poster, WinterDreams, takes 600 photos a match. It's great ;D

Rafa finishes the year ranked 51 very disappointing But next year I want him to more than half that! ;D he would have finished in the top 50 again had Mirnyi and Stepanek not reached semis and finals in Paris. Unfortunately he has Auckland final points to defend staright off the bat, but he will get into Indian Wells and Miami

This must be the 50th update Hello everyone once again". "I would have liked for you to learn this news from myself first, but these things always leak to the press. So this is more like a confirmation: Spaniard Josep Perlas is my new coach". "I chose Josep for a number of reasons. In the first place, I have a great relationship with him since we know each other. I think he is a nice person, and that is very important". "Secondly, he is a hard worker, who has been very successful, and those results back his work up for themselves. So I expect to accomplish my lifetime goals: To win Roland Garros, be the number one player of the World and help Argentina to win the Davis Cup". "This is a new experience for me. I am happy and I can't wait to start working with Josep. My preparation for the 2005 season will begin in December, here in Bacelona". "The fact that I will be working with him doesn't mean that I will move to Spain. I guess I will be flying back to Argentina as usual. That is why I will hire an Argentine physical trainer. His name is the only one left to decide". "Therefore, my working team is almost complete: Perlas will be my coach, Dr. Angel Cotorro my physician, Marcelo Senolini my trainer and Leonardo Seiref my Psychologist". "Well, there is not much more to say for the moment. As I said before, I am happy and I will be writing you again from Houston, to let you know what my chances are and analysing my opponents in the Master". "Big hug to all of you". Guille

This must be the 50th update Yeah, I think he's in denial about his internet addiction. Always pretending that he has other things to do and will try really hard to work in an update before next year, but we all know that he spends 4 hours a day on the net. It's okay Coria, we know, and we still like you. By "we" I mean Dina and I, since nobody else here likes you Wait, no, I think that Kiro might. Somebody should post this out in the open on MTF so people can gasp in shock "he EXPECTS to? THE ARROGANCE" Those people suck. Go Coria ;D Eggcellent. Star, who I usually don't like, had a good point in that it might be good for him to get out of the Argentine tennis circus for a bit You need some dude to travel with you, bimbo. Eggcellent *big hug*

Hello everyone. I just arrived to Houston, found out who will be my rivals in the first round of the Master and I wanted to tell you a little bit about them".
"I suppose you already know, but just in case, I remind you: I am in the Blue Group with Andy Roddick, Marat Safin and Tim Henman. It is tough, but that is obvious, since they are here, and the same thing is with the Red Group" (to see Guille's head to head results against them, click here).
"Safin is, without a doubt, the best player right now. You look at his results over the past month and he is the main candidate to win the Master. I think he will be my first rival. What a test to see how I am, and if I will be able to play all three first round matches".
"It true that Marat might be a little tired and that he has already complain about having to play outdoor right after the end of the indoor season, but he is a complete player. If he is "in the zone", he can kick your butt easily".
"Having to face him after all this time out of the tennis court may not be the best thing that could have happened me, but I will give myself a hundred percent. And, of course, I will enjoy being back in the court again".
"Roddick is also a great player, but especially in the United States: He rises his level playing at home. It still hurts the fact that last year, in this courts, I had him against the wall, but I didn't finish him off and he came back to defeat me. I just hope to feel fine and have my revenge".
"Henman is a solid player, that this season has proven how capable he is of playing well on all surfaces, and I can talk about it since a faced him in the Roland Garros semi-final. He is so consistent that he qualified for the Master despite not winning a tournament this year. On this surface he is extremely dangerous, even though his last results were not what he expected. Tim and I know each other pretty well, and I feel I can defeat him".
"So, I am convinced that my performance in this Masters will depend on how I feel, on how my shoulder and body will react during and after my debut. If I can get rhythm quickly and I am sharp, I believe I can surprise anyone".
"Well, I don't have much more to say. I hope the organization and the courts will be better than last year. I send you all a big hug, and trust me: I will put up a good fight!".

Thanks for the passage, Dina. Lots of interesting stuff in there. I'm not pleased to hear that he's considering Safin a test to see if he can continue the tournament I am pleased to see that he's praised each of his opponents and has probably analysed them pretty well. His comments on each sound pretty dead on to me. I was also amused to him snark at the organization and courts of last year ;D Hopefully he doesn't do too poorly. I'd hate to see him pull out after one match and prove everybody right. I really don't see this as an "ego" issue at all... I think he's just a bit of a 12 year and if he wants to play he's going to play, damnit!*stomps feet* You know? He's too ambitious and doesn't always make the right choices because of that. Regardless.... we'll see how it turns out Hi Ilhame ;D

Maybe we should rename this thread La Armada Espanol Parte Deux (because Spanish and French just make so much sense when put together) I do think we need to find a more appropriate title, so that people don't get confused when they read it. Assuming anybody else every does ;D
