Ha! That goes back years ago when France played Australia in Davis Cup. Someone asked if he and Delaître had a nickname like the Woodies, and Fabrice said, no, but maybe you can call us les nains de jardin -- which are called garden gnomes in English -- and we've been calling him the gnome ever since.

Thanks for the precision! Considering I have been named so several times...yes, I'll never compete with models!!!! it makes another common point between Fab and me. We do have sthg else than our birthday date and typical French sense of humour in common! ;D

:'(Bye my twin! Hopefully, it's against Mariano Zabaleta that he's lost. So I'm not as disappointed as I should be. Because I like Mariano very much...

From the FFT site
"En fin de journée, Fabrice Santoro s'est heurté à un autre spécialiste de la terre battue, l'Argentin Mariano Zabaleta (6/7, 6/3, 6/4). Malgré un service inefficace, le Varois a livré un combat homérique de 2h40. En vain. Mais il a quitté le tournoi la tête haute, avec la satisfaction d'avoir déjà un très bon niveau de jeu sur terre. Vivement les prochains tournois !"
Gnomie Gnomie Gnomie! Rah! Rah! Rah!

Gnomie was apparently down a break in the third, Nalbandian serving 4-3 40-15.
All hail the genius of the Gnome.

Woohoo Team Rome Gnome!
"In the doubles final, French duo Michael Llodra and Fabrice Santoro defeated third seeded Americans Bob and Mike Bryan 6-4, 6-2. Llodra and Santoro won their first career ATP Masters Series title after losing in three finals. "

Mika and the Gnome are doing the doubles final in Hamburg! Good luck to them. The Gnome has attended most of Gasquet's matches. Even today, whereas he should have been in the lockers, focusing on the semi they were about to play with Mika, he was sitting next to Deblicker. I think there's a reason to all of that, which goes beyond the simple friendship he might have towards Deblicker and Gasquet.

That's really great that he was showing his support Fabrice is just adorable.
