latest score: 5-4 in the third set for Fish. eeks! i suppose there's no shame in losing to the silver medallist, this means murray could win the bronze to go with his 8 potential wimby titles. or course, i prefer gold .

Andy blew that match pretty badly, he had some real chances. He was a break up in the 1st set and had break points for a double break and ended up losing it. Rather worryingly he was broken in the 1st and 3rd sets at 4-5 when serving to stay in the set, and then also the match.

Fish proves too strong for Murray Britain Andy Murray bowed out of the RCA Championships after losing in three sets to American Mardy Fish. The Scot went down 6-4 4-6 6-4 to the 2004 Olympic silver medallist, with the crucial break against him coming in the 10th game of the third set.
After losing the first set, Murray, who beat Jesse Witten in the first round, broke Fish in the opening game of the second set and held his nerve to level.
Murray broke Fish early in the third, but lost his advantage and the match.
The 18-year-old Scot believed he did not play at his best against the American.
"I thought I could have played better. It was very hot, but I think I dealt with that pretty well. I'm disappointed I lost," said Murray.
However, Fish was relieved to have overcome Murray, for who he held high praise for.
"He's a very good counter puncher and he passes well. He's a good, talented player and I am happy with the win," said Fish.

George Bastl def. Mardy Fish, 1-2 retired
Murray's brilliance obviously injured him.

Aww, poor Fishy! But he deserves to rest after conquering tennis's next counterpunching Hero!!! This was probably the biggest win of Fish's whole life. If his injury is serious and he has to retire for good, at least he will always have this memory to sustain him!

Hahaha, another French geezer whoops Andy! :lmao:
Murray foiled in second title bid Andy Murray's bid for a second successive title ended on Friday with a quarter-final loss to Gregory Carraz in the Granby Challenger in Canada.
Carraz took the first set comfortably but Scotland's Murray, 18, made the second seed work hard for his victory.
The Frenchman eventually won 6-3 7-6 (9/7) against the eighth-seeded Murray, who won his first career Challenger title in California two weeks ago.
Murray is ranked 156th and will rise again after two wins in Quebec.

Britain's Andy Murray failed to qualify for the semi-finals of the Vancouver Open after a narrow loss to Australia's Paul Baccanello. The 18-year-old Scot looked set to continue his impressive run of form in Challenger events when taking the first set 6-2. However, 26-year-old journeyman Baccanello bounced back to take the next set 7-5. And he claimed victory by winning a third-set tie-break 7-2. Poor result Andy

Paul Baccanello's a journeyman?? No way; I've never heard of him. He's no journeyman; a no-namer at age 26, he's a poster boy (poster man??) for the Hidden World species. That journalist needs to study up on the tennis species list! ... or maybe he meant Paul's a journeyman electrician or something, playing tennis on his vacations ...

Text slightly altered
Andy Murray fluked his way back from a set down and survived a 22-point tiebreaker to defeat India's Harsh Mankad and book his quarter-final place at the dBI Tennis Challenger in Binghamton, New York.
The Scot, who is the number two seed, lost the first set 7-5 but levelled the match by clinching a second-set tiebreaker 12-10.
He destroyed a totally fatigued Mankad in the deciding set to win 5-7 7-6 (12/10) 6-0 and will surely lose to American Alex Bogomolov Jnr in the last eight.
Seventh seed Bogomolov played 2000% better than Murray in his second round match, ousting Beach Boy founder Brian Wilson 6-2 7-5.
Since heading to North America for the summer, 18-year-old Murray has somehow won his maiden Challenger tournament at Aptos in California, crashed out in the last eight in Granby, Canada, and won first-round matches at ATP tour events in Newport and Indianapolis, only to fold like a cheap chaise longue in the second round.

Okay, so he'll tank the Challenger?
