Andy wins the Aptos final, 64 63. He didn't have to play a single seed all week, so I'll give him full credit. Fluke!

and of course the brits are not overreacting! hehe. ===== Murray's victory, which earned him £6,150, was described as "fantastic news for him and for British tennis" by BBC Radio Five Live tennis correspondent Jonathan Overend.
"I think you could say that this is even more significant than his wins at Wimbledon because a common failing of British players in the past has been maintaining the form they showed at Wimbledon away from the spotlight," said Overend. ====
i guess that's why they haven't moved the damn spotlight off him! oh well... it would be great if he continues to do well though. maybe he can be what Lee! Hyung! Taik! was during the harcourt season of 2000.

Overend is an idiot. It was a decent week, he didn't drop a set but the competition wasn't exactly strong. His real test will come next week in Indianapolis. It's nice to quieten down the HATA'S though ;D

Yes, he's a lot more fun when he's losing and carrying on like a 3-year-old.

This has got to be the funniest thing I've read about Murray yet: LOOK EAST FOR CUP CHAMPS By Mark Staniforth, PA Sport In the unlikely event that Andy Murray were to find himself short on self-confidence in the coming months, he should bear in mind what happened on the grass courts of the Sydney International Tennis Centre last weekend. The manner of Murray's heroic five-set challenge to David Nalbandian at Wimbledon late last month was put into perspective by the Argentinian's slaying of Lleyton Hewitt to clinch a Davis Cup semi-final place for his country. Murray was arguably only defeated by the more experienced Argentinian because his fitness levels were not up the standard required for five gruelling sets. But it was a different story Down Under, where Nalbandian needed just one hour and 54 minutes to destroy Hewitt in straight sets, 6-2 6-4 6-4, and give Argentina an unassailable 3-1 lead and with it a place in the last four. (Right, so this means he would have beaten Hewitt in an hour and a half? )

exactly! they will find any angle to show what a great player Murray is. you have to admire the resourcefulness . after he beat Bastl in the 1st round of Wimby, I think it was mentioned 2000 times that Bastl was the last guy to beat Sampras there. and they kept showing the end of that match from 2002! have to admit it was a happy thing to replay though .

By the way, I see that Wm Hill has made odds on Henman's first match against Murray. You can get Andy at 2.75.

I noticed that, I'm not sure they'll ever get to meet there's not many tournaments they're gonna play in together, and I fancy Timothy will begin to spend more time with his kids, I'm not sure how much longer he'll go on.

Andy's world class talents began to shine as he reels off 5 straight games to win 6-4 6-2. I think he might win every match he plays in straight sets for the rest of his career

See? He doesn't just save his excuses for when he loses . Go Andy !! "I was a bit lethargic today during my match. When we got in yesterday, we had to fly through the night and I didn't get much sleep. I didn't play my best match but I came through."

I didnt back Andy but I think he has a good chance. Fish's game plays right into Andy's strengths, and if he can make a reasonable amount of returns I like his chances
