Tonight he makes his league debut for Barcelona. This season there's gonna be LOTSA Barca games on Swedish TV. Almost banana republic style.

Rac. Santander vs. Barca still 0-0 when THE Henrik is replaced in the 63rd min. And the Swedish commentators whine... He missed like 3 or 4 chances and the demands are high in Barca.

WC Qualies Malta-Sweden 0-7. The Henrik scored one goal on a free-kick, but missed his first penalty for the national squad. Zlatan 4 and Ljungberg 2 scored the other goals. On Wednesday the dreaded Croatians in Göteborg.

Barca-Sevilla 2-0. THE Larsson scored the second goal late in the second half (Giuly scored first one). Eto'o took Henke's place as central attacker, insted Henrik played left forward instead of injureed Ronaldinho. Hmmm... doesn't look good. Next week it's Celtic-Barca in the Champions League . Funny enough Zlatan Ibrahimovic's Juve also meets his old club Ajax next week.

I wonder what kinds of receptions that Henke and Zlatan will get from Celtic and Ajax fans respectively.

Welcome FB. I thought this was becoming my private thread, like the one I have on MTF. I think Larsson will have a great reception at Celtic Park, the Scots don't forget. I'm not sure about the Ajax fans though, they sometimes boo former players of theirs, nb Ckarence Seedorf.

Hej Aphex,
True the Scots won't forget Henke at all, I mean I can understand why he left to play in Barcelona and they do have a good team this year. Sending out Saviola on loan is a good reason to think that.
I remember the Larsson days in Helsingborg and the dreads he had. Cape Verdeans are proud of Henke as well.

Yeah I read in an article on traveling to Kap Verde that they are very proud of him. And I've read in an interview thwt he wants to go there (he hasn't been) with his father and his son someday. Do you know some Helsinborg fans think he's a traitor for not wanting to finish his career there but in Högaborg (his first club). They think Helsingborg made him. But I think it's the other way around. Henrik Larsson would've been in Allsvenskan without Helsingborg, I'm not sure Helsingborg(but probably) would without all the goals he scored (he and cry-baby Masse Magnusson) the season they were promoted. Fans always exaggerate the importance of their own particular club.

Yes, that's true that some fans can exaggerate the importance of their teams, though in some cases they have a point.
It's true that Henke would have made it with any other club in Allsvenskan and his overseas experience has shown this. I can understand wanting to finish with his 1st team and what has happened to Magnusson?
You know I remember the playing days, yes our team played at the Gothia Cup many years ago, there was this guy called Johnny Rodlund who was meant to be this big star, but he has gone nowhere.

Actually I think he works for Högaborg Yes he's from that club originally too. HIF is "jätten Glufs Glufs" in Helsingborg. They should've been demoted last year to div 2, but weren't since the city council loaned them a lot of money.

You played vs. Johnny Rödlund in Gothia Cup I'm not worthy Actually Johnny has probably played in almost every country in the world since his time as junior star at Man Utd. Without any succes, so now he's back in Västerås SK where it all started.

Back to THE Henrik.
Barca coach Rijkaard is implying Henke won't play in Glasgow tomorrow. He fears the Celtic fans will go more nuts than usual if they see their Ghod in the wrong jersey. And the crowd is a very significant factor at Celtic Park he says.

You know GWH wasn't a bad player in his day, he used to play as a defender or goalkeeper and coming from Tromsø, he used to see all the northern kids that the club recruited. Siggi Rushfeldt is one of those and my older brother knows Lars Bohinen.

And the crowd is a very significant factor at Celtic Park he says. They are hard to beat at Parkhead, and I will be watching this match very closely, then again thats the one I am getting coverage for. Interesting to see what they do with Henke.

THE Henrik Larsson scored against his old club Celtic. He replaced Ronaldinho in the 63 min to a standing ovation from the Celtic fans. By then the score was 1-1. Giuly scored 2-1, Henke was involved in the run up with his first ball touch. With his second ball-touch he chested the ball past Celtic's goalie and with his third he scored 3-1. And Celtic Park went silent.

Athletico Madrid-Barcelona 1-1. Van Bronckhorst scored for FCB, Torres for Madrid. THE Henrik came on at half-time replacing Eto'o. He didn't score but set up Ronaldinho a couple of times, which big smile guy missed. Pretty impressive how Barca dominated away vs. Atl.Madrid. I think they are a bit disappointed with a draw.

Mallorca-Barca 1-3 After being benched against Zaragoza, THE Henrik was back in the starting line-up. He showed his gratitude by scoring the opener and assisting Eto'o's second goal of the day.

Champions Leauge: Barcelona-Shaktar Donetsk 3-0. THE Henrik came on in the 75th minute. He had a couple of scoring opps. but didn't capitalise. Seems like he's #4 among the Barca forwards. He and Eto'o competes and Eto'o is winning at the moment .

Copa del Rey: Granamet- Barcelona 1-0 THE Henrik played all match but obviously didn't score in this huge upset by the Spanish third division side. A funny fact is Granamet was beaten earlier in the season by Barca B.
